Somatic Bond and Avatar of Destruction

I know, I actually had an excited reply written before I had time to test it, because on paper it sounded good. This is just my report from limited time use, which so far does not meet my expectations. The rain hitting me and 3 spells landing after the mob just died irk me the most.

Yeah, that does sound pretty bad and worth recognizing and considering. /comfort ... and /giddy

And still instant as of me testing it two minutes ago.

Crash bug is known, was caught just a couple hours after patching. Only happens if someone who is AoD'd casts a nuke or DoT after the enchanter dies. Can just wait it out, or click it, in the meantime. There also seems to be a small bug with DoTs due to some proc code (preventing procing a debuff/DoT already if it's already represented on the target). Hopefully will be fixed tonight or soon.

I guess the rain self-hit thing will go away if it goes away from mages first. But until then I have to say I kind of like the idea that you might have to (gasp) coordinate or even strategize with the people you AoD to make best use of AEs and whatnot.

Well, you can still rain yourself, but you won't automatically rain yourself because your target died to the first nuke. If you walk into the rain, you're still going to get hit.

Either way, mages rejoice!

I might be conflating opposition to my idea for a tome that makes your AEs skip mezzed targets and also reduce DoT damage to 0 on mezz targets and not wake them, now that I think of it. It's still kinda sorta in a similar vein of "risks of AEing" though.

Well teach it to the druid frog pets first. for the love of Gradalsh make it go away !

So just want to throw this out there, Aishii GoGing me in abyss atm, Is giving her about 150dps from me, and i could swear (by swear i mean i am almost totaly and completely postive) That gog added atleast 300-400dps to me before this change, and the whole she can't melee with true giant well AoDing a mage and the massive mitigation she receives from AoDing people is just making AoD a pain to use and makes the true giant tome completely useless if you happen to be AoDing anyone doing anything AE related.

Should be 0 mitigation on nukes and keep the 50% chance to mimic, Or 100% mimic and keep the mitigation but as its functioning now it really seems like a giant nerf to enchanters.

Most people will hate this, but I would be all for a giant nerf to enchanters, and a redistribution of that dps to actual dps classes.

Its kind of ridiculous how required enchanters are for progression content, even when no mezzing is involved.

FWF makes a real, mained dps sit their character and box zorlon anytime we do the difficult content because outside of the huge benefit from buffs, curses, DAMPENING (almost required to survive certain AEs), mezzes, runes, etc, they provide more dps than actual dps classes (with the old gog/aod at least)

That would make it even more difficult for enchanters to get exp groups, though it is a good point.

I think more charm viable mobs should be added to exp zones for enchanters. Charming is the most fun part of the class for me. I LOVE playing Zorlon in Abyss because charm is actually worthwhile.

Encounters get balanced around the most dps a raid can do and the most damage they can take and survive. Dampening makes crazy AEs survivable, and old AoD/GoG add huge amounts of dps. Basically results in enchanters being required for content you aren't overtiered for.

Yeah but shouldn't at least one enchanter be required?

Why? Maybe for a CC-based fight, but on a normal fight with no mezzing or anything, I don't feel like enchanters should be required. No one class should be required for most fights, just like how druids are hopefully going to be able to fill the group healer role for raids.

Is it still a rule that your raid can't have buffs from out-of-raid characters? That would pretty much require enchanters to be in raids regardless.

I strongly believe that when I dot a mezzed mob, my raid should suffer for it.
