Mage changes *post suggestions here, not in SoD discussion*

Are you trying to be serial here? That is not how you compute dps.

Had to be pulled out of a logfile as far as I understand, (due to the difficulty in actually parsing dots, complete with the fight time etc) that's the shortened version that was posted on the old empire boards. All of it of course was going for the fight, that was just seperating it by dot. Other than that I'm not particularly aware of any problems with it.

One could just find the damage, adjust for mods, and calculate that on a per tick basis, but that wouldn't factor resists or crits in.

As awesome as that sounds, I'd like to see more parses than a one time occurance (for accuracy's sake). Because for the majority of the server that is not the type of DPS we are parsing.

Awardis+pet parsed 530+ on Glacier(upper thaz) whereas my wizard parsed about 525

Unless fire does around double on him, or there were a simply retarded amount of crits, I'm not seeing how thats even possible. I'd certainly like to see a detailed parse of that.

Not to mention that I don't see any other fights than one mentioned in that, so I'm going to go out on a limb and wonder if it's fight specific. One fight of course not meaning a thing in terms of a class's dps overall.

also /agree jayelle

NONE of us have seen even close to that. Not me, tinkaa, rurho, garluk, jayelle, etc, etc, etc, etc.

That is of course an Archaic'd mage . . .

so is rurho, check brandar's rundown of the archaic in the other thread, a link in here for it. I also wouldn't be surprised if terate wasn't using mooncomet, as it seems like a mob with a name like glacier would be pretty immune to it. Garluk also archaiched last i checked, not sure on tinkaa yet.

From 3 other Glacier fights, averages:

Awardis: 381
Myrmidon (awardis' pet) 95
Terate: 506

From a single Nashtav, Forger of Souls fight (a very FR mob, Awardis uses relic)

Awardis: 302
Myrmidon (awardis' pet) 93
Terate: 481

Also, Awardis's Cha simply destroys the other mages mentioned here. Not to mention he has more damage focus effects than the others.

As does Terate; so it's still a valid Wiz:Mage comparison.

It's possible that the archaic just closes a gap that exists on the relic level but IDK.

Well I can't wait to be one of a half dozen (are there even that many?) mages on the server with an archaic and geared as well as the best mage on the server before I can start doning more than mediocre DPS and accepted to raids so I can summon mod rods every 8 mins, heh.

IMO Magicians still need to be tweaked for the low to mid level raid game. It doesn't seem game breaking to change things suggested in this thread IE: a higher level fire based rain, pets having higher ac/resists, summoned armor, lower cast times, or an addition to a current aa that allows a magician to share aggro with it's pet.

Bingo, gogo cranial pulse + 8%ish fire increase? Pretty much exactly what I wanted to point out. There's a massive glaring imbalance as far as mages across tiers. Not to mention cha does in fact have a finite limit. Which most of us actually aren't too far from if you look. Considering of course things like charisma buffs.

Cranial pulse is not +8% fire increase, 8% magic iirc

was talking about the ear for fire dude, pulse being on the ring, like cranial pulse + (as like and) 8% fire increase on flames of eternity

Not sure what you mean but if you want a say 5% magic focus item(same as motg ruby is for fire) I agree with you completely!

That would be pretty good, and another option, seeing as a good large thrust of the thread wasn't about increasing pure dps. More like lack of variety, resist problems, gaps, and pet problems. All of which could bring mages up pretty far, fairly easily.

Like adding a + resist portion to Companion Health items? =)

That too, but ive seen less of a problem since barrier ward by far. More of a problem still w/ramp/whirlwind
