Adventures In Texture Editing

You're so ambitious! I'm looking forward to the changes and am relieved to hear the deletion issue wasn't due to my being a n00blet.

By the way, what's the deal with .dds files frequently being rendered upside-down? It's not EQGExport that does this. The images themselves seem to be oriented this way. The client mirrors them over the X axis (i.e. it flips them the right way around) so everything is properly aligned in game, but I can't understand what the rationale there could be.

Probably stems from DIB stuff in Windows. DIBs are rendered upside-down (why, I don't know), but I always had to make sure that I flipped my Y axis when I loaded images, otherwise they'd show up upside-down.

Put up the delete and import fixes for now (no confirmation prompt on overwrite imports, but should work correctly). Might take back first match search and just have exhaustive -- some annoyingness dealing with pre- vs post-alphabetized lists, and the gui library I'm using doesn't seem to have any obvious way to force highlight and scroll to a certain list entry...

This is only tangentially related, but can anyone discern why a torch on SoD looks like this

while a torch on Live and any other server looks like this?

I thought for sure this would be governed by the .wld in gequip.s3d, but even when I've replaced the SoD version of this file with the one from Live, the torch remains laughably small. What gives?!

Could be overridden to use the smaller (or bigger?) model in the client. (Who could say why...)

I put up a version of EQGEditor with the multi-archive search thing. Think I'm prepared to call the program "good enough" bar any more major bugs.

If Enchanters had been given a new Animation pet for Runic 2:

Alternatively, it seems that something recently b0rked the held weapon models that our Ancient pet uses. In case the benevolent staff ever felt like revamping that pet with a new model altogether... (Okay, okay, so maybe the obscenely bright royal blue mohawk could be toned done a bit!)

Sometimes I get weird ideas in my head. Maybe Santa Troll is due for a new helper come Christmas 2014! Perhaps the name Specter Claus would suffice. (By the way, why does SoD use the British English "spectre" instead of the American English "specter"? Not that either way is wrong!)

Also, is it just me or does the DRU frog pet actually look really weird with green skin? I would've thought it'd come off as more realistic, but I'm just so used to the three options we usually have.

You're cranking out dev tools like a madwoman, Zaela! I hope they're getting a lot of use out of your hard work over at the EQEmu forums.

I always wondered, what would happen if you tried to apply particle effects to a piece of worn gear? For instance, some kind of ice/frost particles that would emanate from cold-themed boots.

This is such a nice development for the EQEmu community. O_O Good job Zaela!

I look forward to the variety of good customizations and server-specific flavor that can come from this.

And I, too, would be curious to hear about the potential for particles on visible armor!

I haven't looked at armor at all really (not sure which files luclin player model armor are in even) but even if it is possible to add particles it probably wouldn't get more specific than "any and all plate boots," for example. Wouldn't be very interesting having to see the same particles on everyone wearing the same class of armor throughout the game.

edit: I think someone told me that it's possible to add particles to NPC models, though? That tool might be enough for that (well, for post-s3d models) if I let it pick up stuff with names other than "it####". Maybe.
