Somatic Bond and Avatar of Destruction

@MOTS+Dampening: I'm a big fan of the suggestion to remove them from the game. It would require some rebalancing on a number of fights, but they seem to just have become something where if the content is either easy to handle as far as AEs, or bard+enchanter are required to survive.

@Charm: I like the idea of mob returning to spawn point after enchanter death (and maybe make them no-agro a few min incase the group/raid is fighting on that spawn point). Sometimes there are very few good charm targets in a zone/area and they are long respawn, so if the enchanter loses their pet they might not have another to charm.

I also like the ideas of gog/aod and curse combinations. There are a few cases where it is good to do caster/meele curse at different times, but they are pretty rare. Or maybe the combined curse could be a different spell so that if desired the enchanter can load both (assuming this could be made non-abusable). Having curses able to cast more often, but not on the same target sounds like a good idea. 30-60s cooldown sounds about right.

Will the spells have another illusion added to them? Because being invisible it's very annoying to position yourself on mobs to melee.

Woldaff poo-pooed the race illusions because it "doesn't make sense" now that they don't increase the target's numbers. I think he was saying something about making the target take the Enchanter's current race and gender because the Enchanter is copying part of what they are doing so it only makes sense that the target gets turned into them ... which would either be really hard to notice or potentially really wonky if you're using Shapeshift with one of the weirder size-altering races. Invisible was kind of a compromise toward at least kind of being able to tell who is currently affected and who is not at a glance.

Personally I think the old illusions were fine even if the target's numbers aren't increased; the whole idea, I think, is to make it easy to tell who has what currently done to them. But I'm not the one you need to convince.

edit: also why GoG's name changed. Because "giantkin" made so much sense back when the spell originally went in, and the effect was haste.

30-60s cooldown sounds about right.

I just worry that this will create situations where doing nothing but curse becomes an efficient thing to do, or more than enough for raid trash. Not really looking to make them even more boxy.

PS does anyone use the charm pets on the second floor of spires? I can't remember seeing anyone using them now that I got thinking about but I could be wrong.

edit: I added some to the other floors and made them respawn in five minutes just in case someone does.

Are you talking about Dreadfang spire? if you are. I just went there. In fact, I am standing on floor E on the map (floor 5) there is a total of 3 green mobs,20 light blue mobs, and 16 blue mobs for the whole zone. It is literally barren of mobs. just a few on each floor. library floor has none. There hasn't been anyone in here for at least 45 minutes since I have been in here. I have been tracking the zone and nothing has respawned. just sayin'

I read the update since I visit the site every few months, and my heart jumped. I than read this thread and realized that I'm better off raising a family. That's just sad.

Fact is, they're [enchanters] really not good, and are generally boring to play, and that's why nobody plays them.

QFT; being an Enchanter sucks, played this game from tier 1 to whatever the hell we broke into, pre-pet nerf, post pet nerf, reunerf pet nerf, pet oppositte nerf, GoG 2x players, GoG 5x players, whatever. Shit doesn't change, Zaela was close to the point being that between hitting the same buttons, there's not much else to do, but that's the same for any class. The difference though is that Enchanters are geared toward support, and being the one feeding bullets into the gun isn't nearly as fun as aiming and pulling the trigger; that's why Wizards are fun and Enchanters are not.

What if you brought two Enchanters! Also how frequently should they be able to use it? Every trash mob on a raid? How many times in a long fight with multiple targets like Thaz1?
Obviously not every trash mob but as for frequency maybe more than once every lunar cycle. Is it so different from the situation with Festering Curse? I think like every 5 minutes or something would not be unreasonable but maybe I'm wrong.

AoD is stealing dots from necros occasionally. Its not all the time, nor consistent, but several times today AoD caused archaic / relic to cast for the ench, but i got neither dmg ticks or a resist msg

.

250 -350 a round, 1200 crit backstabs around 600-750 normal - got the kill on the researcher part of spires duo, then jetted with the loot. Balanced toward hard to handle on recharm for necros, but shouldn't be a problem for chanters. A really nice pet overall.

In the raid tonight I had the monk and 2 rogues tell me not to GoG (SB or whatever the new acronym will be) them because positioning while invis was just a pain in the kisser and not worth messing with.

Anyway we could get some sort of illusion added. a snake, bunny, rat, fuzzy blob of pixels at least?

Is it possible to make the target of SB insta cast shapeshift(The Enchanter AA) when it lands? Because if i cant make people cool things then that sucks.

This would be amazing. Reverse ShapeShift would be ++++ better than invisible man, and would just be a great flavor addition if it's not a huge pita to put in.

Thanks for changes for enchanters

But there's one thing I don't like in this patch, losing the giant illusion.

I saw many melee players who don't like to lose their char shape w/ SB(old gog) and refuse to get get SB. They say it's not easy positioning w/ mob when u can't see ur char shape except weapons.

and as a enchanter, It's not easy to find where's toon that I gave gog among the many chars.

So I hope SB to gives any illusion. I don't care if it giant or not. just need some kinds of illusion.

Gonna try this I guess then. Forgot I could just copy shapeshift code when Woldaff asked for it.

on a side note can we do something about recall minion 2 . I mean with charmed mobs that summon this is kinda broke.

I think recall minion is perfectly fine and amazing for soloing if you only have rank 1. And i dont think charmed mobs can summon iirc.

yeah Tev is it having rank 2 that sucks is what i mean if you have rank 2. Like can we get a reinburse of AAs so can have just rank 1.

This is awesome! Today our ENC shapeshifted into a dragon, then tossed out AoDs like mad so we all could be little dragons for a short time.

This may be a little off topic but can there be a command for the recall minion AA to toggle between ranks 1/2? /cm recallminion 1 or /cm recallminion 2 are the first things that come to mind. There was a thread about it a while back but im too lazy to find it
