Ranger Auto Fire

Wow, fun conversation here.

1) Autofire- Bad idea, but if it was implemented I would seriously nerf it. Autofire at 50% rate, that is the price for being able to type and talk while shooting things.

2) Bow DPS nerfs- Why not have rangers slowly and steadily gain DPS through a fight? They start out as it currently is and then gain .5%(example number) accuracy per tick of the fight(Max of say, 10% increase)? This would reflect the ranger getting the feel of the mob and being able to get past it's defenses better as the fight goes on. Basically, trash mobs would see almost no difference but long fights it could be a real benefit. Would this bring the balance that everyone is looking for?

Just a few ideas.

Maybe something like: landing arrows reduces a mob's ac by a little bit, capped at -5% or -10% perhaps, and would take ~100 arrows to reach this cap. Similar to the "DoT cripple" effect that necros get. Would add an element of utility to bow attacks rather than them just being straight dps and provide a small increase in dps over the course of a fight.

Those are both really interesting ideas for restoring the importance of rangers in a raid without skewing class DPS output balance. I don't know how difficult that kind of thing would be to code, or whether the developers want to make any further major changes like that, but personally, I like the sound of it.

Ooooh nice ideas both Danku & Tyrone. Bowlocking and/or AC (or somethg else) decreasing would be A+ and may stop the endless whineflood of rogues & rangers.
