Mid-Range Cleric Heals

I was wondering if it would be possible to add a half big heal into the game

Blissful Light
390 mana
2100 base heal
4sec cast time
range 100

5.384 HP per Mana

The problem I am having with Healing Increment/Vessel of Althuna/AA's I do around 3750 HP heal or roughly 7500 HP on a crit leaving me not that many tanks that I can efficiently heal (leaving enough room that a crit wont fully top up the tank)

What I would like to see is a mid-range heal that shares the mana efficiency of blissful light the cast time and the range, but have a lower base heal amount, I would like to see the base heal amount split between Blissful Light and Blissful Remedy

Dim Blissful Light
302 Mana
1625 Base Heal
4sec cast time
Range 100

I don't see how this would hurt anything, it would just allow me to efficiently heal a lower tiered tank in xp sitations as efficiently as I could heal a tank with a much large HP pool I don't see how it would be un-balanced.

Ethereal Light (lv 58)
325 mana
1600 base heal
4.75 sec cast time
range 100

This is clearly just another example of that dam liberal "got ya" media with their "fact checking."

Really though, if you think there is something wrong with how much cleric heals heal for, there is something wrong with how you're playing your cleric.

How do you play yours? I play mine trying to leave a big enough chunk of HP to heal that if I crit the tank can absorb most of if not all of it w/o topping him up

Why don't you tell me how you can do that with a tank of a base hp of 6k (7.2k buffed) with a big heal that does 3750 or 7500 crit, he could be laying down with an HP bar purple and still be topped up with a crit

Base 6k hp = 8k buffed. Your math is bad. There are 3 lines of hp buffs, not just one.

Your assumption that we always roll with a pally and a shammy is bad...

If only there was some sort of mechanic that wouldn't make you heal for a large amount upfront but continue to heal the tank over time. Now stay with me but maybe this heal would be casted on someone you wanted to heal and it would heal every 6 seconds for a couple times per cast. I think if the devs would put this in it would make healing tanks in exp groups fairly efficient no matter what their hp is.

I think we should name this something really snazzy.. like.. Heal Over Time (HoT for short). I think we should propose this revolutionary idea to the Devs, post-haste. :)

HoTs are a base heal of 500/tic
That and with a duration of 4tics and recast of 5 tics, its not possible to keep it up on one tank, all of the time

i find it interesting that you are super worried about being efficient when you are in the midst of battle but not when you prepare to head out to battle.

So what you're saying is, "Thanks hugh, that's exactly the spell I was looking for. Now that I've been shown that, hey devs could you make the game a little easier?"

Then maybe ask the devs to remove the recast timer on it? I am not certain why druids get insta-recast, and clerics don't. (They are masters of all things healing, afterall.)

This thread is now a lot more useful. I was meaning to bring that up myself, could we please remove the CD on cleric ST HoT?

Also: I was just wondering if the druid heal buff is/will still be implimented? Why not just put DRU on Vessel of Althuna?

a Dev stated that they considered jacking HoT's from clerics altogether so I am not seeing a buff to anything HoT related coming our way

The problem with HoTs is they are fickle as there is no way to scale them up for what you are doing, Relic'd druids have the option to cast Ancient and Relic but clerics don't even have the option to stack EoB with AA HoT or anything so its 500/tic + effects which doesn't even cut it most the time, hence the need for a more effecient way to use a big heal, something between a patch and a massive heal

HoTs are meant to be used in conjunction with heals, they're great for mitigating damage that is coming in frequently. I have leveled a cleric from 1-65 and there is zero need for something in the middle, actually it's sort of an insane request honestly and as was illustrated earlier in the thread you can always move down to a lower level heal.
