Last night we had one of the most excitiing adept raids yet, and after a few tries, the hunters conquered Sandjaw!
I was having doubts as to whether I should make the announcement, but when a few folks messaged me and told me they were down, I was inspired to rally the troops. We had grown stronger since our last hunt and our resolve for revenge had been steeled when we met defeat to this monster before. Our forces gathered and prepared to strike...Qubeley told me she would personally kill me if I took pictures of her with the new models on so I made sure to protect her honor.
Lookin good Qubeley.
Unfortunately, the nature of this raid means that I had a hard time taking pictures, so I will provide a play by play:
Knowing full well that a fight underwater was going to make things almost unbearable, we decided to lure the croc out of his underwater tower and into our poised blades. However, this big bastard could both summon anyone that aggroed him, and root them...UNDERWATER. We had to find a way to lure him all the way onshore without our puller dying and losing the mob back to the deep. Qubeley the bard brought forth our solution when she informed me that she could pull it with one of her songs without causing aggro and thereby avoiding the dreaded summmon. Thanks to her wise suggestion we had our course of action. Try as we might however, we could not stay alive long enough the first time, health was falling too rapidly and our druids simply weren't made to handle such an assault. Things looked grim, until a familiar cleric appeared at the nearby docks, and let me know he was here to help.
Drawde was here, and with this new information, we now had the staying power to slay this beast. However our monk could not join us in this next charge, and we lost one of our vanguard. The Hunters, however, have the flexibility to quickly enlist aid from every corner of the world, and soon enough, a ranger appeared at our side, blade in hand and bow ready. Filled with new confidence I sent the pull order and our skilled bard jumped in ready to charge! She was then immediately attacked by a pack of crocodiles. We really need to work on this dramatic charge thing. We disposed of them and continued, and when Qubeley bravely died within the depths of the lake to get Sandjaw far enough to pull with my arrow, the fight began...
I swam as fast as I could to the shore, my health failing rapidly as the beast ruthlessly summoned me and tore me to within an inch of my life. I turned and attempted to strike him one more time, but my arm had grown weak, and my spear glanced off his armored hide...I had not been able to target the beast soon enough, and he had summoned me to a greater depth than expected. I had to make a choice: was my vanguard strong enough to keep Sandjaw at bay, or should we wait till I returned to life and try to pull again? If one thing is important in keeping a raid successful, it is trust, and with a knowing smirk I used all my remaining strength to lead our target to his doom. As the blackness closed around me, and movement became impossible, I uttered one word before falling to oblivion: "Pull"
I awoke at the beach and was pleased to hear the continued sound of blades slashing into the monster. I knew however, that the the vanguard was teetering quite close to Death's door, it would not be long now. They did not let up though, and Suron's flaming blade exploded forth with blazing scarlet-tinged novas upon the hide of our quarry. I did not know what to think, and looked at Qubeley wondering if she was considering the same thing I was. Time moved unbearably slowly, and with each passing moment I became worried that my hastily formed plan would fail. One tank fell, and Sandjaw was quickly finishing off the last one. As his balance faltered, and Sandjaw bit into him for the final strike, my death fatigue wore off, and with a series of driving blows I hoped to regain the hate that I had inspired in him before I fell. Quebely had jumped in seconds earlier, and her song had never stopped, serving as the anthem for our victory as the healers struggled to regain the energy to keep us alive, and the casters readied their next nukes. Sandjaw seemed invincible. but with one final united assault the hunters struck him down just as I succumbed once more. I did not care that I had needed to die...we had won.
Congratulations to Suron, whose able Paladin and Mage gave us very important support in this fight. Enjoy your
Battered Journeyman's Bag, you earned it. I am happy to report that I retrieved quite a treasure from that croc bastard's innards in the form of the
Sandblister Chestplate I consider this a gift from all the hunters as a result of your hard work and loyalty, and I can't thank you enough for it.
I'm trying to see who would be interested in a raid tommorow night. If I get enough names I'll be glad to organize another raid for both Sandjaw AND the Haunted Treant. I would like to politely request from anyone who knows it, how to figure out what time it will be in Game on certain times in Real Time. The haunted treant is undead, and I would like to schedule a raid for it during in-game day hours. Is there a formula or a chart I could use? I know an hour is like 23 or somethin minutes, but I don't know when that starts or begins with that information alone. Thanks to anyone that can help.
