Current EXP Rate

nobody said you NEED codex of power to raid. terrible is doing tier 1 2 3 content without any codex.

You can honestly do up to T10 with no CoP done, after that it starts getting really nice to have it done on most your raid but still not required, its almost a myth that you need that stuff done, That being said that myth will not just go away, and it still escapes me why XP rates haven't been boosted or something like the frist 10 tomes you do requiring less XP then going back to normal rates, that would both address this huge XP wall new players feel like there expected to finish without encouraging the XP gap to get larger, and to all the people that think "I did it you have to to", go away your holding the game back.

to everyone whining about exp do you remember when codices didnt even exist and people still raided? probably not which is why we should remove tomes from the game so you can get a taste of it

Yes, and I also remember how they rarely if ever logged in for anything other than raids and/or farming. I'd wager the massive amount of unspent aa's on most of these characters is mostly the result of raids (though raid xp was extreeeeemely low at that point, though some zones differed. I believe that changed right around the time tomes went in, possibly shortly after. Bit fuzzy on that), and farming (often the farming of other people). I don't think 1.2's had been introduced at that point either.

really bad memory

Could have been no one had one at that point, it was 2007 I think when codex's came out? As I alluded to, the chronology of what seemed like insignificant events at the time is kind of fuzzy.

I could have sworn at some point a 500k was the highest though. I'm picturing an announcement about charms in my head, though it's entirely possible I'm remembering the erudin hours, the turnin $ changes, or when they made them nodrop. Bit of confabulation there on my part I guess.

Yeah, that was the top charm at one point.

Should just do that suggestion where codexes are split into a melee damage, spell damage, and healing tomes. Each rank would be 1/3 the xp of current codexes. Pet damage would fall under the melee damage tome.

This would require effort and mass database charges though.

The idea of splitting codexes is awful because most classes benefit from each effect and would end up doing all of them anyways. If anything reduce the amount of exp required for an AA and reduce the amount of exp required for a codex of power

+1

Make it happen.

Said it before, i'll say it again incase anyone has changed their mind.

Take out Codex's. Add the % as rewards for things like:

- Getting through MQ part 5
- Getting to a certain point in the VAH
- Getting a certain number of AA's
- Deity Augs maybe? (I know some are broken/not there so meh)
- Finishing a certain amount of Quests?
- Getting a certain amount of keys in say, Cmal?

Why streamline mindless grinding when there is a shit-ton of content out there that is more fun.

Because not everyone wants to spend hours and hours doing quests when they would rather be killing monsters with elf dollars with friends.

people do these quests anyway...are you saying if we tagged on codex exp people would stop doing these quests???

Some people do those quests, other people don't like questing on this server and don't. I didn't do a single Vah quest until a few weeks ago because I ran out of tomes to do.

I'm not against removing CoP and adding their bonuses back in cool ways, but I disagree with things like the Vah or arbitrary zone keys being some of the factors. Plus, mobs like Lasanth spider, Parcelan, FG Advisor, etc. already get sniped very fast even though there's only a handful of people on those steps of the Vah at any given time. Making it that much more critical for people to do would be awful.

If cop was removed and added as vah quest i probably would stop playing because questing is awful and boring and not fun. Its pretty much an exp group except you kill less monsters, get less exp, less platinum, and get trolled by the RNG not giving you your quest piece. Also nobody will help people do quest because questing sucks.

Tao edit: First quote removed since it quoted a now-moderated post.

Look at these guys, coming out of the woodwork.
