We All Love Monks, Here

it most certainly does do "something" what i will leave for you to figure out on your own. It seems very strange to me that monks because of elemental fists cannot or atleast should not do dps during 2 of the three phases and bards are unable to attack on the third. Rbow i really dont care about since that buff you can just click off for the fight but monks cant unlearn elemental fists and bards cant unlearn their AAs for that fight and then relearn them the second its over and continue on.

While I agree that is a problem I am not sure this is the place.

While the subject is up ill toss my 2 cents.
The Elemental Fist Tome is a epic tome and really the only drawback I can see is ToT farefiends and Thek'rak. Honestly on Thekrak, iirc its annoying but not ground breaking. I feel Mnks have VERY few fights where they are bad. Sorrow Thekrak Akarn, just any fight that requires ranged or hits on Procs.

I would prefer not to be penalized for my tome proc which I can't control, but if that is a design to "make" the mnk less of a desired character in said fight, I understand.

From my experience as a player, any and all procs do not count for gongo, but any and all procs do count for thek'rak.

Ok guessing this is as intended then but still seems very strange that proc players cant unequip/clickoff/disable can count but if thats its intent then i guess no further discussion to be had on it thanks!

Control your procs jeez I'd kick you out of my guild if you proc'd when you weren't supposed to

lolz im a bard i just afk during bosses and come back for phats.

Anyway on a note non related to procs these monk changes sound really bad ass. I cant wait to see them in the raiding game.

I really like the aux tank bonus+not getting hit as often while aux tanking thing it sounds really sweet and like it will give monks a niche the truly need before monks stop showing up to raids and we just replace them with SKs/Necros all together.

idk how you can possibly kill thek rak while restricting classes of dps because of procs. sounds like a headache. just stack melee dps and burn through lol

I agree that it is a stupid mechanic, but there are many bosses/mobs that make some caster classes useless, or near useless in the t3-9 range.

Unfortunately it seems these sort of mechanics, that promote simply dropping certain classes and bringing in boxes, are not a part of the game I see changing.

Or it is a mechanic and a strat fight and not a gear fight. Do not mess up and you do not usually have issues.

Slaar had RL things happening but appears to be back now. Not much to be said until he unveils the new stuff.

I had a bit of an idea about H2H damage when unarmed, to allow more scale with item progression, but ... It might actually be something that would be overpowered, abused, underpowered, or require too much work to 'fix items' or something...

What if the damage of your unarmed attacks was based on the armor bonus of the gloves in your hands? So basically, your gloves are your weapons! That would make cloth weapons less effective then unarmed combat (Akin to using a rusty dagger!) as it adds padding to the hits. Usually a good idea for Sparring (cushion the damage to not harm your fellow monk) but when it comes to fighting real monsters: Leather and Studded Leather is where its at. Nice, hard protection for your fists to allow you to hit harder, and studs to add even more to the injury! Now, figuring the right formula to transform AC from gloves into damage would require some work, and there are items open to All that have tremendous Hand AC... but if those are only found on Adepts or difficult quests, then I wouldn't see much of a difference to a monk doing an adept for a pair of good gloves, or a Fighter doing an adept for that awesome sword of trolling hate.

That would allow unarmed combat to scale with gear: Better hand armor usually means better gear in general. So, high end content gloves could allow a Monk to fight on par to other DPS classes, whereas if he decides to put weapons into his hands, he can use the hardness proposed by the weapons (Claws, force fields, staves, clubs, punching daggers, etc) as a means to be more able to Block/Parry/Riposte without risk of bringing harm to his own hands, thus being more tanky. Lore-wide, that would make much sense!

The old monk 35 stance is required to effectively do Maggot infested corpse. that is the charm/fear proof stance. they are the only class that gets such a stance at that level. This also means a monk must tank this adept at least for the first minute so he is the target of the charm. Makes a huge difference in this fight not having the tank going around killing everyone or running off to the middle of nowhere.

Or, you know, use two tanks.

Changes look awesome. I'll gum up the thread a bit with an unrelated but related question - are beastlords still using the old system for bare fists?

Monks have s1, s2, s3 and ethereal.

As of this writing when tanking a mob the return kick AA consumes stamina and kind of limits any player decision making. I would think it would be best to have that made to not take up stamina?

Edit: This is only the case when tanking in aggressive
