Twenty-five New Tome Ideas (just Read What Interests You)

This is a really great idea aswell because I feel like druids really should get a healing tome. They pretty much get shafted as far as that goes and get semi-useless things as their class tomes are now.

This is an excellent point. Something that buffs up AA:Earth Mother and makes it the healing yin to Shape of the Wilds dps yang (Sihala is all about "balancing") would be swell. So would grinkles' weird earth shield guys or his lycanthropy thingie (changed to a tree) or a dozen other things already suggested in this thread or others.

I guess i fail to see how its on the blah side in comparison to reduced downtime tomes. Also your post does not solve the problem as i was going for a straight dmg increase and i believe SK /s9 only increases melee dmg with 2 handers.
Your idea gave extra damage to 2handers for minus aggro, as long as they also had no +aggro buff on. /s 9 gives bonus damage to 2handers, but reduction in mitigation. Why go through the trouble of coding in the extra checks, when you could just give a boost to the existing stance? Which, with decreased mitigation on it, means they likely are not using a +aggro buff anyways.
Reduced downtime tomes are very blah, never said they weren't. Don't own, and I am unlikely to waste the cash/time on the bard meditate tome, for just that reason.

SK tome :
Increase the damage of the shadow knight in exchange for a -50% agro modifier when using a 2h wep and does not have a Agro buff on (Probably to complex to balance but would be a cool idea for when shadowknights are not being tanks in the group to add a little more dps to them but probably hard to keep the checks active enough to prevent exploiting)
notice Increase the damage of the SK not increase the damage the SK deals with melee or with his two handed weapon... This means Dots taps procs everything.... This is also part of the reason i said it would be hard to balance. Second high teir SKs can use /s 9 in lower teired exp zones (IE kaesora rust etc) and still hold agro and tank plum fine the -50% agro was to prevent this.

FORCE OF BODY TOME REVAMP IDEA
In its current form this tome is pretty lame considering its a tome about doing dps with flying kick and when doing dps a monk should flying kick 0 times. What it could do:
When the monk is effected by the triple round kick combo reckless buff, they gain a 4/8/12/16% chance to flurry.

This is a good idea, and more fun than most of the other suggested replacements for this tome (of which there have been approximately infinity, by my count).

I understand that roundhouseX3 is the "combo" monks use almost exclusively, but why not make it proc on any combo? Otherwise this tome giving players one less reason to use the things they already rarely use... not a good direction to move in unless the entire end goal of the combo system actually was to replace flying kick spam with round kick spam. Weaksauce.

Since this would be the combo tome I have a name idea that probably wouldn't get anyone sued:
Tome of Killer Instincts

I like "Fist and Foot" better than Killer Instincts as it sounds more like an assassination tome than a flurry tome. and "Fist and Foot" suits the whole monk theme better in my opinion.

I think you may have missed the reference here. Like darksabbath said the name means next to nothing, but "Fist and Foot" sounds like an unfortunate case of hand-food-and-mouth disease mixed with tetanus. Though maybe I have just been hanging around hospitals too much lately. Yeah.

I'd just like to ask that you don't make every tome for a class require relics or long quests as a prerequisite (ie druid). Some of us have played for a long time but can't commit to raiding often so tomes will then be useless to us. Adding more illusions on top of fire elemental, wolf, tree also reduces each of their respective utility. Maybe making earthmother, shape of the wild, or crown of storms better would be nice.

Also don't like the monk ideas. The force of body - > flurry one sounds a lot more fun.

Bard tome: Keen ear - Your mastery of music has given you a keen ear, allowing you to gain extra benefits from songs.

Basically bards with the tomes done would gain extra haste/resist/speed ect from songs.

Yeah like what if singing a haste song could make them flurry or something, thatd be sick. Also, bards already have 3 class tomes and probably wont get any more

that idea just seems way too powerful for a class that can already do alot.

Yeah, not sure why a class that is all about boosting his friends (group/raid) gets only tomes that boosts himself. Making Quiet Reflection a raid-wide boost (if possible) would be a step in the right direction. Sadly, as unimpressive as it is, bards at least have a third tome to talk about, that is far ahead of several classes. So I doubt changes will be made before they finally get theirs. (Whatever year that might be.)

Quiet Reflection will add deeper understandment of meditation and mana renegation so it will add more ft to manasong or give faster mana renegation in grp while out of combat. Would help for less downtime and more monster slaying.
