The Ruins of Nagthilian/Neriak

"so there we were man...came around a corner and there were two Dread Annihilators, one Harbinger of Suffering, a Tormented Ravager, and The Lord Grumslash, Eater of Souls"

sweet....what did they look like?!?!?!

"oh they were all just skeletons"

what did they drop?

"i dunno...they looked so fucking boring i couldn't bring myself to bother attacking them. i kinda felt bad for their blandness"

so then what?

"well i went to camp the skellie illusion mask and then tried to hand them some cooler weapons and armor, but the client stopped me from improving their coolness. the client doesn't support cool."

wru chardok and howling stones? great set of zones there that could be utilized. Not sure if the powers that be have plans for them or not though.

*Gives a thumbs up for more content* though it may be a very long time till it appears i look forward to it. thats for sure.

Right now I would much rather more 60-65 exp zones come out that everyone can enjoy rather than bleeding edge raid zones that 16-32 people are going to see then be done with in 4 months.

Quotin' for agreement.

I had the same thought a while back, but if you actually go into neriak and look at how the buildings are positioned and what not you will quickly realize that it would make the most absolutely frustrating raid/xp zone on the planet. Seriously there are more shitty 2 floor buildings, cramped spaces and annoying doors in Neriak than any other zone, and while it seems like it would be a fun place, it would most certainly turn into a zone that no one likes to go to because of all the triple and quad pulls.

3-4 pulls are fine as long as the mobs aren't retarded with retarded abilities like fear and snare and blind and stupid dumb shit like that. exp zones are supposed to be fun as well as challenging, and blind and fear are the dumbest abilities in the world.

You're right. Or another plane zone either on or above Air.

I do think Bancak mines in a 6-man format is the best idea put forth here so far, by Rurho.

Also agreed, though I think making a massive zone (such as old fr) that spans levels may in fact be the most equitable option. Something like 30 (where places to level get slimmer) all the way to 65. Perhaps even with a zone boss in the style of some other zones. Thus accomplishing in one shot, another place for 30+ leveling, another xp spot for 65, and one more raidtarget.

But y'know, just musing on various ideas.

Definitely agreed. With the FR revamp and the removal of Bancak, hunting between high 20s and low 40s has gotten slim. Yaralith and MielB are the only real options and after 10 levels, you get pretty sick of Mielech.

To get back to Naghtilian/Neriak, although I see how it wouldn't be that good for regular hunting/raids, maybe it could host scripted events, as powerful mages and healers try to get the magical forces that inhabit Naghtilian under control. The first zone could accomodate level 30-45ish events, seconde zone level 45-60ish events, and the last zone be of raid difficulty. *shrug* That way, it'd solve the problem of random adds and aggro-through-walls annoyance, provide another alternative for level 30-50 to hunt in and make Naghtilian useful once again.

It'd take a lot of coding though and I'm not sure just how heavy scripts are on the server.

It does host rare events every now and again. Though I fail to see how it would be any more convoluted than some of the pathing in places that already exist. The dt mobs sure were avoidable, with minimum effort too. So I wouldn't think aggro would be all that bad. Aggro through walls happens in alot of places. I've seen it in highpass, kaladim, firstruins (old), etc.

Just an odd thought, why not have a special item needed to avoid the DT. This could be something you have to quest for and what not. That would bring even more lore into the neriak zone itself and make it possible to play in the zone. Essentially it would be like the seeker key for erimal.

*shrugs* I have always played dark elf and would love to see the old home again.
