The whole notion that people who play more should be discouraged, stopped, or hindered for teaming up with people who play less is simply counterproductive and not in the spirit of video games in general.
Not every player has 30+ hours a week to grind tomes and save for supreme charms all while being available to raid at the drop of a hat; people have jobs, family, friends, kids, things to see, places to be... even as a very casual raider the time and effort it takes to get anywhere in end game content is considerable. Sure my /played clock pales in comparison to some but does this mean that I, or anyone else in my shoes, shouldn't be eligible to participate in a certain area of the game world?
Make two versions of all (all?) bosses with everything identical except one version is eligible to be pugged and the other must be killed by a guild raid force. It would be random which version popped (Bosses that currently need keys would spawn as a pug version less often?? The frequency could be adjusted from boss to boss) Obviously a guild raid force could kill either type but if you wanted to pug something you better make sure its the pug version thats up. Further more if a guild only version stayed up for long enough it would turn into a pug version?
I have no idea if this is even possible, or if its a decent idea for that matter, but its the best I can come up at 2am on a Sunday.
I really love this game, just as much as anyone else who plays here. SoD is aimed at such a small and specific portion of the on-line gaming world that nobody in their right mind would be here unless they really wanted to be and had a passion for it. Were all on the same team guys. That being said... continuing to make the game less open and making it more difficult to play together... its just nothing short of assbackwards.
Thaz is gone, get over it. Got over it.
Now lets work together to make this into something positive.
