Bango paints a really rosy picture for shm 900 dpsing while healing.
Rdot casts 3.0 gem refresh is what 2s? Caress cast 3.2s gem refresh 2 more sec for 10.2 sec dots wear off in 13.8s. So ya u can heal and dot but dotting keeps a cs7 shm busy ~40+% of the time.
Cant really maintain healing well while doing that. My shm can do bursts of 900dps in cit on golems if doing nothing but dpsing but its not the norm.
Yeah i can only agree, even when my tier 11-12 shm does 3 dots, or 2 dots and 1 rain (rain is not stupid good, you lose alot of Melee time, because of its long cast time), Zanman can break 900 dps, if he is lucky with procs and crits, but he can not be a healer in between.
If he runs this set up in a group, he will usually end up around 400-600 dps, untill his mana runs out.
Yes, the dots are mana heavy, and no Shamans do not have unlimited mana, again a myth.
If you circle 3 dots, you have time for 1 heal. If you circle 2 dots and the rain, you dont have time to heal at all. And either of the rotations wont just magicly put you at 900 dps, you need items to get you the last juice. Crystalis or better.
Actually let me do the math for you.
Relic dot ticks for 1020 on Zanman, probably crits about 30% of the time. But lets say 50% (1530) of the time it crits, it also does 500 ish damage when it connects, this damage cant crit.
4 ticks, 3 sec cast time (3.5 base).
1530 x 4 + 500 / 27 = 245 dps.
Caress does roughly 10% less, 220 dps.
Bane does 32% less, 167 dps. (also base cast time of 5 seconds).
632 dps (with out counting the 2.5 seconds i have to wait to cast next dot, this number is to high).
So yeah its deff not bad, most the time your just chaining dots, with room for barely doing 1 Woundbane, before you have to re stack dots.
If i subject the Druid DD to the same math, 5.5 sec cast base, 4.7 with focus (same as Zanman 3.5 -> 3), 1500 damage base, 4173 (same as Zanman doing from 550 base to 1530), we get
4173 / 4.7 + 2.5 = 579.5 dkp. (This number is including the recast time of 2.5 seconds)
/shrug.
(Doesnt the druid pet do more damage than the shm?)
