Roses of Judgement: The Althuna Quest Bug Thread

The gate neck did not work from south newport this evening, thursday. I gated to greater fay and it worked there.

Btw, success. Got the third level of the aug now.

Also...this is an evil evil quest considering it's Lawful Good. ;P

I tried hailing Eisla of the Rose for the first time tonight and got no response. My question is: Is my faction too low(cons warmly), do I need to do something else first, or ???? . Not looking for spoilers, just a directional nudge(and some confidence I'm not bugged)

Might be someone else you get an introduction letter from first, like someone in a bar near the entrance.

After successfully defending Seer Tarnok (and him saying come get the weapons from him) he would not respond, he was agroed on my group for some reason, and after a second try he was agroed on my group again within a minute of the fight. I don't know if this is a bug or something to do with faction but was very frustrating :(

Dawn tribe is NOT a fan of elementals, undead, woof units, and pretty much anything else a player can turn into. I'll see if I can't make him forget his prejudices when you hail him though.

I certainly appreciate the directional nudge :) . Once my gate neck started working, I had spent all of my time in the city mapping and learning the layout. Hadn't really spoken to many of the locals.

As an aside, I have been having a lot of fun exploring/learning the city. I have made some interesting discoveries( especially the one group that is in the city against their will) and even had a few unexpected(and unwelcome) returns to my bind point:haw:. All in all I get the feeling that I'm on the threshold of a really great story and just wanted to say thanks Zak before I even get started.

Let me start by saying that I like the story and the quest itself. So far it is enjoyable.
My only suggestion is that the difficulty of trial of purity should be adjusted. Most of Althuna follower that I've come across being paladin, clerics and druids (aka no dps and inability to bring non althuna pledged characters), the mobs that have a fair amount of hp, unpredictable adds and on top of that a timer. It’s very hard.

I’ve personally failed this part about 8 times before finally succeeding and was using well geared characters with 4 or 5 tomes completed with 5-6 man team most of the time. Also in my opinion it would help if there was some indication before the trial start what exactly needs to be done to succeed. I’ve totally missed it and only by luck was told the insider info.

i do agree to an extent.

I have talked to Cyzaine about the difficulty being a bit too much. Was in there with a group of Numinous and didn't get the trial done in time.

the first group to do the trial had 8 people and it was insanely harder in its first form. We died 2 times then won with about 10 mins to spare. This version of the trial is still pretty hard even with dps. But this was a tier 9 ish geared group of 8.

There is also a lack of explanation on what your suppose to do.

Imo the trial has to be reduced in difficulty but the next parts increased.

The trial to do consistently takes tier 9+ players in its current form. Though, this may be how cyzaine wanted it.

I even had cyzaine nerf the final fight a bit since part of it was just a bit overpowering for a group (granted if cyzaine wanted it to be a mini raid of 12.. then it was fine hehe)

I was actually nice with the trial goals. Unlike most of the quest, which is vague and unguided, there is an NPC who straight up tells you all the quirks of the trial. He/She is mentioned by name throughout the quest, though you never HAVE to talk to him/her.

I keep over swinging one way or another with the trial. Made a few minor changes this morning, mainly relating to the stun proc. In the end adjusting the timer may be my actual solution.

Keep the feedback coming.

i think an hour and 15 is a good time for it.

but zak the trial ver. 1.0 was like cmal4.1 difficult to get thru, was fun !

The hard part of the trial for me was that I usually whipped at least once due to unwanted adds. Recovery takes at least 15 min. So yes increasing the timer would definitely help. I would increase it by 30 min thought. Not everyone is uber and if this quest should compare in difficulty to Enthan's which I have completed than this should be much easier.

Actually, when I did the trial on my Paladin, Viniece, we had a tier 7ish pally, my tier 4ish pally, a tier 3ish druid, and some decent dps (which is admittedly rare for Althuna) we managed to complete it by the a fraction of a hair. I mean, we dropped him, and like 2 seconds later we were told time was up. If you could -always- find althuna sworn dps - it's perfect where it is. But since Althuna sworn dps is rare, a little bit of a timer boost would probably be key.

yea that aug is pretty easy compared to marlow and althuna.

15 mins should be enough once the stun is reduced. The stun is a pain in the ass to say the least.

Haha, ya that was pretty epic when we beat the trial Vin. I thought it was just the right difficulty considering we got it with having quite a few deaths though I am not sure if we totally wiped or not. Like Vin said though we had a wiz which made all the difference and I think I resisted most the stuns so that most likely made a difference too :p

BTW just wanted to say I really loved the whole quest Zak A+

its not suppose to be same difficulty.. its harder and a better aug (i believe).

I'm at the part with the regretful rogue. He asked for a sign of Keira so I gave him the lockpicks (he then gives back the lockpicks). He then says before I take these, can you hand me my journal. I handed him the journal and then he says he'd like the journal AND the lockpicks (he does not hand back the journal).

I guess I'll just go back to EBL and pick up another journal, but it seems like he should just hand you back the journal if you only hand him the journal.

No big deal, just a minor hassle. Love the quest so far!

EDIT: Nevermind, I zoned out and the journal was there again! It definitely disappeared while I was still in CoM, but it was back when I zoned out. Weird bug or something!

So I'm at the part where you become a private and get the first aug. I went and picked up the symbol of love Eisa wants, turned it in, got the dialog about getting handed off to the Captain, then AFK'd and subsequently had the server go down before I came back. Either that or I crashed and didn't get back in, I can't remember now. Anyway, Eisa doesn't give me the dialog where I can inquire about the Captain and Duke anymore, and the quest journal is telling me I need to get another symbol of love and the Captain won't speak to me with updated dialog. I'm guessing I just need to be reflagged for this part. Was hoping I could get a hand with this at some point, the character is Tyvec. Thanks.
