So, here's a question about Resist versus Immunity. Does aggro build for if the target is immune the same way as it does if the spell is resisted?
I thought that Pally's got a smaller portion of aggro with Stun immune mobs versus Magic resistant mobs, but I could be wrong.
In the case of a root immune mob, I guess I picture the roots not even popping up out of the ground since it's immune. (Therefore not generating any aggro) But root resist mobs, I see them just breaking the roots.(Therefore generating aggro).
The idea of a immunity to a root clickie seems to me to be like, "Dangit, why isn't this thing working" /em bangs hand on Binding Orb of the Dead.
Instead of "Oh, it looked like it worked", "Aaaaaaaah, maybe not!"
I really don't care one way or other since I am a horrible Wizard and love aggro.(Just ask my guild) However, changing a game mechanic for a convenience with one item, seems rather absurd. As stated by others, there are many things that can be used to pull and part of the fun is the creativity you can use to figure out different ways to do it. The encounters were built around certain mechanics, so obviously the pull strat is not solved by using the root clickie.
My favorite is the Major Concussion Pull...
Somehow, even when I pull with a spell that generates -1000 Hate and nothing else, I still get more aggro than a Pally. But, boy it sure get's everyone's attention.
