Ranger CoD Quest Reward

Skos has a Windblaze and 47% haste, for all intents and purposes he should be doing as much DPS as he was. The only tomes he is missing that really impact his DPS by noticeable amount are Opus of striking 2 and his Class Tomes 3/4. Maybe Crit Evo if you wanna nitpick.

Also what dates are those fights and which fights were they. I'm sure there are fights rangers are good at and ones they are bad at.
He didn't have those items at the time. The first is rujik and the second is custodian. Rangers are good at all fights in high tiers.

Rujik is the best necro parse in the game btw. That includes 2 swarm pet releases as well.

What a terrible parse on a two minute fight.

Ok. Im trolling, but if you can't see why a two minute fight with how statistical flyers work, how a + damage clicky can carry you through it, and the fact that the fight is so short he can run runic 2 the whole time is a terrible parse for comparison. I can't help you. Take him to rujik or taeshlin and get back to me.

i do realize these things. im just pointing out that necros are still amazing. maybe new content will change your parses.

im holding back b/c i don't want this thread to continue as it is. i would like it to focus on the ranger cod weapon!!! :)

but i have plenty of parses that highlight other classes. like wizards on akarn (hard fight to parse, but still). mages and necros on a failed golem, who can continue dpsing through rains/dots while rangers and rogues get FD..

I think there's 2 seperate issues in play with the original topic.

1) Rangers having consumable DPS

I'm on the fence with this one, ngl, aside from augs and potions, fletching is the #1 stay-power tradeskill, but getting to stand in a corner and /cm autofire as a balance vs using arrows seems to be the underlying sore-spot. Does eating bag-space impose too large of a detriment? Probably not, aside from rangers being like bards thinking they need 6 bags of melee weapons.

2) Tear of Elael quest rewards. The tear itself for casters = A+ irreplaceable (until Phase 2!?!??!) item. For melees/hybrids, the weapons are pretty sweet. Some are better than others, and they were designed to be items with a medium amount of staying power via multiple equippable slots. The real final player-determined viability of the items won't show itself until a few more guilds progress through the tiers to it/past it.

Ultimately, not all rewards are ever going to be equal. While the Shadowstaff and Mindlash are (so far appearantly) top-shelf, the ranger sword appears to be close to the use-it-forever list, the rogue dagger will take you from yclist clear to cmal 4.3....at the end of the day it's probably going to take 8-10 guilds progressing through the tier naturally to determine the final balance/viability of each reward. (inb4 marza says "nothing's changing quit asking!")

EDIT: Also I feel obligated to mention that that rujik parse was like my 1st time and I was like 2 tiers behind at the time and did much better later pls don't think I'm a bad person IRL for my horrible gamparse numbers.

parsing will never be easy. there are so many variables involved and so many openings for error. just listing the parse numbers obviously doesnt always provide you with enough information for an accurate analysis.

(I was actually sandbagging pending a dragon sword b/c I'm a bad person IRL)

(That's my story and I'm stickin to it)

Spires fights are really short, which allows them to use runic 2 there. That is why necs look good in spires. When fights challenge their mana pool and they cannot run runic2 consistently, they look very different. I myself have posted over 4000 dps in spires on a fight. But that is a really, really short fight and I blew 10K mana on it.

i can tell from the hat you're wearing that this is indeed truth

I made that hat out of one of our standard-issue dixie-cup hats and a sharpee marker after 1) Being drunk while watching Down Periscope and 2) being told I would be an MA3 for the rest of my natural navy life. Joke's on them, Millington made me an MA3/E-5...which if you know anything about the navy is hillariously backwards and enjoyable as all get-out.

Rangers are a good solid dps class at the endgame, but I don't think they are OP. Certain fights certain classes are better. I think at the end game classes are pretty balanced, other than necros needing better sustaining potential (replace FC with super-lich).

That was my whole point. Certain classes are better at certain fights. There are rujik parses with lleoc doing 1400 dps, but nobody is gonna claim monks are broken.

I could go and find a parse where any dps class wins the day, but it doesnt make any of them OP.
