Very simple. I am tired of having to take off both of my bracers whenever I cast alliance spells for faction. Can we either re-classify these as beneficial spells that won't do an offensive proc, or disable bracer procs for them entirely? I've toasted faction I was trying to buff when a mistaken bracer spell goes off on a crit and 1 shots a lowbie mob.

Thanks a bunch.

Same case for calm spells. I cant remember how many times a bracer proc goes off on casting pacify and pulls a huge train at the end.

I can't stop laughing everytime I think of the look on some poor dude's face trying to cast a faction deal on a mob and it suddenly blows up. I think I'm a bad person.

Thanks for the quickfix on the alliance spells! Saves me some time, and hopefully it will save the faction of some new enchanters out there... It seems like there might be other culprits out there for un-intended bracer procs.

Can this be done with calm spells as well (Lull, Harmony, Pacify, etc)?

What other spells might be un-intentionally triggering a proc?

unequipping your bracer(s) when you cast a faction spell is truly the pinnacle of skill, and is a highly learned thing that seperates the good players from the great ones.

PS. I didnt even know that alliance spells triggered bracer procs until this post, i unequipped mine as a precautionary measure but assumed it acted as a beneficial spell

So I'm ok with it proccing on calm-like spells. The idea of a calm spell is to make it easier to attack things. Alliance is supposed to be a friendly thing. I don't think we should change it.

That said, on the rare occasions I do use it, now I need to remember to remove my LT bracer. Guess I've been lucky. :)

A better solution is for people to understand what their gear does and act accordingly.
Even better would be not to take a suggestion from a QUALITY OF LIFE thread and turn it into a place to serve up condescension. People know full well what the bracers do. The fact is, making them proc on an alliance spells is inconvenient and not contributing anything to the game - Faction spells have never been designed to cause agro. It is purely a beneficial spell, and forcing people to remove a bracer to cast it adds nothing to the game. Full Stop.

On the subject of calm spells. Since those are utility which is cast on an aggressive enemy, I'm perfectly fine leaving a requirement to swap out in game. I wanted to float it as a suggestion for improving the mechanic. It isn't supposed to dumb anything down, but it would provide a measure of improved usability (A memed spell in areas with heavy pathers is alot easier to cast when you don't have to un-equip two bracers when you see that roamer coming by).

If you disagree with the suggestion, fine, but implying that someone who makes a thread like this doesn't know his or her gear is unfair. It's like saying anyone who operates a computer with a GUI instead of a command line has dumbed down their experience and doesn't know anything about computers when in reality, sometimes people just want a more intuitive interface.
