Pwned

Or, people could just stop treating the Wiki as a means to tell other people how to play the game and pushing their own agenda?

I'm only saying not to delete contributions. If you don't like the wiki then don't contribute to it or use it.

Just don't go sabotaging it for other users, for fuck's sake. There is more than one way to play this game.

well to be clear, i haven't ever deleted anything from the wiki. I'm just saying i don't use it for quests or anything. i do use it to see items and such though. i just don't agree with the quests being spoiled is all.
i know it probably wasn't directed to me, just to clarify
Official Wiki would solve the problem, no one can delete contributions, quests, items, etc.

Definitely sounds like its time for an offical Wiki for SoD , if the Current Wiki Admin is going to start forceing thier views of game play on the SoD populace.

If the quest was ment not to be spoiled, then Wiz or some other high end Staff memeber would have said so. End of story, it is not up to others (Non-SoD Staff) to dictate how people should be playing the game.

Its thier Sandbox, not yours.

There is already a precedent for not spoilering the content of quests on the wiki; it is forbidden to post the responses to the MQ lore questions. I, and apparently many others feel like some of the other SoD content deserves the same respect as the MQ lore. I'm sorry you don't.

Just the opposite, I don't feel all quests should be spoiled, but I feel people should be able to make that choice baring a SoD staff memeber saying " DON"T SPOIL IT ON THE WIKI"

MQ as justification works both ways. It does set a precedent, however on that same note it is the only quest that has been issued a Do not Spoil, and only on 1 part of the quest.

This seems more of a case of SoD Staff in support of information being posted on the wiki vs censored. Letting the players make the final choice weather to spoil the quest or not

It's not an issue of respect for content, so don't be a strawman. It's an issue of play styles. The individuals who don't want spoilers aren't going to be seeking them on the wiki, therefore, the only reason to delete contributions is to keep those more goal-oriented, non-rp-ers who are seeking spoilers in the dark. Why? Because you apparently think thats the best way to enjoy this game.

Stop deleting contributions from the wiki based on how you think this game should be played. If you don't agree, or don't like the wiki, please ignore it.

That's quite a reach there. The so called precedent is for ONE SECTION of the FIRST PART of the quest, everything else about the quest is on the wiki, save this one incredibly short part.

Anyone deleting game content from the wiki without it being expressly asked for by the staff will find their admin privileges on the wiki lacking. :toot:

I am 36 years old with 3 kids(one of which is a special needs foster child). My use of the wiki is not based on a lack of intellect or interest in exploring, it's based on a lack of time. If I had to futz around constantly looking for quest steps I wouldn't bother. I WANT to take in as much content as I can, but I need to maximize my time so the wiki is the answer for me. If you don't want your questing experience spoiled, then don't look it up on the wiki. And anyone that removes content from the wiki because THEY don't think it should be banned from the wiki.

You assume wrong.

The MQ is posted in it's entirety save for the quiz answers which Wiz said explicitly to omit for reasons that players should learn the lore.

Deleting entries in the wiki completely contradicts the purpose of the wiki in the first place and you should be ashamed to be doing such things as an admin of the wiki, kerolynne. Seriously, you are doing no better than someone maliciously deleting content information on anything else with the purpose of keeping it secret from the rest of the community as an attempt to keep yourself with an edge after the fact of it being posted. You are negating the very spirit of the community wiki.
In all seriousness, shame on you Kerolynne

I have to disagree here. Kerolynne doesn't do anything to give herself an edge over others.

I'm not arguing whether her opinion on deleting content is correct or not, but she wouldn't do it out of selfishness. There's no reason to call down shame.

I really hope someone posts the rest of the quest on the wiki.

I just want to see how the various statements made here and their obvious implications play out...

Deleting correct information from the wiki is just plain dumb (unless it is illegal like the quiz answers) the wiki is there to help the blessed with a lesser intellegence or that just want to finish quests, not worry about sitting camping the wrong mobs.

dont like it? Simply dont look at it!

if someones deleting help on the wiki for quests they should be shot, some people dont have the time to spend all day searching for things. Just let people play there own way, if people think that the wiki spoils too much then dont look at it

I wouldn't delete without asking, since everyone is calling me an evil bitch. I was going off of other spoilers (not deleted by me), strats, etc., that have been deleted in the past (again, not by me). I have never personally deleted a quest, a strat, etc. I *have* actually reinstated some quests that were deleted due to itembot trolls.

I assumed it would be taken like the MQ, not to give out very key info.
