Paladin agro (yes everyone knows it's horrible)

The rogues were too lazy to evade OR backstab, the monks didn't stand up from FD, the beastlords forgot to exist, etc.etc.

bango didnt tank for their main exp groups as he wouldnt hold aggro (is the rumor as I was not around then)

also the higher tiers you go there is marza code that if a tank attacks first he gets 29038402938420 instant aggro or something (again this is a rumor as i do not have access to the code of the fight but it has been said many times before)

One of the things staff said in the /ooc discussion was along the lines that DPS should manage their aggro better, to which I said that with warriors and SKs people can do the bare minimum of evading/fd/conc/jolting and therefore do more dps vs grouping with a pal. We're all essentially lazy (or we want to be more efficient??) so why bring a Paladin? That argument just means that War/SK are broken. Would they rather "fix" two classes or one??

Please put in a pad fix! Like someone else said, people who aren't paladins are complaining on their behalf. I main a rogue, and I'd still rather Paladins got looked after than rogues.

Paladins are fine. Everyone posting in this thread, or the half dozen others like it, that says otherwise is suffering from mass delusion. I used to be wrong in the head like you, but now I am cured. You have to learn how to stop worrying and love the Bango.

Waiting patiently.

I thought about this over and over and to me the most important aspect about needing a boost in threat generation is say I'm off-tanking a few weeny mobs while the SK is tanking a boss. If suddenly the SK goes down there is no chance in hell I'm able to go and take agro on the boss whereas a ranger or monk that was killing the weeny mobs with me can - this has happened countless times and we wipe as a result. SKs and Wars have the ability to grab agro quickly and save the raid, a paladin which is supposed to be a part of the tank class should also be able to save a raid. Why not make the taunt button function the way it does on live (puts you on the top of the agro list +1 threat) so that we have a fighting chance? I think the maltreatment of paladins is a running joke for the GMs. Is there a GM out there that actually understands paladins?

A SK is not typicaly going to be able to just pull snap aggro on a mob you have been killing with a raid for 20 some % of its health if he/she hasn't already been building up aggro there taunt button works just as well as yours(doesn't), As a pal with a SK maintanking your raid you should be going hog building aggro behind the SK so that your not trying to play catch up if he/she dies.

As a example and one from a terrible player, One day Exo was killing Gongo, Memu was tanking, Uzzdaar was sitting there aggroing the shit outa gongo with severance in, stole aggro from memu a few times until we screamed at him about being bad, This is about where you should be on any raid, a few casts/bashs from stealing aggro, if your not your doing it wrong.

Ringo = why paladins were nerfed ?
Bango = why paladins aren't fixed ?

you have to admit there is some irony in the fact that the main tank of the only guild to do tier 13 is a paladin. i mean, how easy it would have been to have it be a warrior or sk, to fit the narrative. but no, it was a paladin. pre-runic 2 buff. pre-jyre. people who say paladins aren't viable are actually hurting their cause imo, because that's the kind of hyperbole that kills your argument.

i'm not saying it was ideal (it wasnt) it just happened to work out that way, and it's entirely possible for a paladin to main tank all the way through the known game.

I'm not sure you're getting my point. I'm talking about situations where I'm having to off tank 4 or so mobs trying to keep agro on them while they're bashing the hell out of me (think Arghol Blood pyre fight) so I'm not able to build agro on the boss let alone heal myself.
