Ouch my Neck

I see neck nerfing has taken place. This must be the solution to the raid groups all forming in a few zones.
SO are these nerfs permanentI wonder? Are other changes to this isssue yet to come?

small hijack here : is RV#2 neck modified too ? cause it's not so easy to obtain...and it would motivate peops to get it.

I want people to stop gathering in RV because you're ruining the spookiness of the zone by turning it into raid guild central.

If this nerf of the neck doesn't do it, I will nerf harder.

Out of interest, how does the recast stop raid guilds gathering there? It's not like they need to gather more than once...
Latecomers can be picked up where ever - it's just that initial big gathering, which seems to contribute to SNP lag/PL, that makes people find other places to gather....

Perhaps some kind of 'guild house', like the player houses....
A guild hall, if you like....

I agree, now that necks are slightly more difficult to keep and the fact that not everyone seems to want to be on the same faction (dragon/giant), is it possible to have some place that guilds can meet? I know RV is used for this simply because it is convenient in four ways; 1. The neck is quite easy to obtain when you know how it's done. 2. RV isn't crowded with people 3. There's a bank there and 4. There's shops there.

I know that the guild could of course still use Storm Keep or DHK but not everyone can be relied upon to obtain and keep their faction bound necks for various reasons. This causes hassles for a guild, which is one of the main reasons the RV neck is used.

I like the idea of Guildhalls. They could be the same as player houses and every major guild could have one (GM's should decide which guilds get it and which1's dont). Only guildtagged toons could use a key to port there and then no guild would ever have to bother looking for a safe spot to port from again :)

You can just have your donating guild leader (or one of your donating members) give house keys to everyone and use that as a meeting spot. Same concept really, and it was suggested that you could use them for as guild halls IIRC.

From what I understand of the way the houses currently work, tons of models have to be loaded to support the trophies, whether or not the house has any trophies placed. At least for me, zoning in takes a long time, and after I've visited the house my client is very sluggish and has to be restarted to run well again even after zoning out (on a 2GHz/1GB RAM machine). I never visit my house anymore for this reason. :(

Empire Meets at Aarielly's house, we've just started adding a little extra to the call time before we want to leave. It is slower and zoning kinda sucks, but we have a private place that can be accessed from any major city. We don't have to worry about taking people on accidental Mass TL's, and public storage gives people a way to drop off stuff for the guild bank while they're there. It's benifits outweigh the inconvience as far as i'm concerned.

Yea, that is pretty much what I was trying to express. I dont have issues with lagginess zoning in or after zoning out. Perhaps because I don't have any decorations up?

Go into your everquest folder, find poknowledge_chr.txt, and empty it out.

With all due respect... RV never was scary for me. I joined SoD, at level 30 had someone say, *Hey, RV neck is the most rediculously easy neck to get, lets take 3 people and get your neck.* The upgraded RV neck ring is more work for less reward than similar targets, and RV isn't creepy, just inconvenient because its worthless as a city half the time.

So, what would make it creepy? I dunno, but the creepiness wasn't bolstered by the 30 minute neck nerf. Maybe if it was never a city? Or always creepy (no halflings, just swirlies, darken the sky, make it so that you can't sit in one spot for too long or you get a DoT cast on you?(5 minutes?)...)
