More mid tier 6 and 12 man content

Well, you could always take your 6 low-tier people, have them two box, and then go out and do Tmaps for loots.
I am sorry, I don't see them putting in level 65 adepts (your 12man raid force), or altering a zone to be a 12man zone. The first would get farmed by people for their alts, and the second would probably be just a huge pain to code, and then it would suffer just like the level 65 adepts.

Just to be clear,

I am not talking about myself, my toons are in Phoenix Rising (Nuchre/Eleazer) and would never post about my personal gain. Ironically there are 6 and 12 man progression zones at my tier and we were in Abyss last night. My reason for making the post is:

1) Server numbers seem to be dropping;

2) High Tier Guilds have been decimated recently

3) I don't play on US time but almost all low tier raiding on European time is artifact hunting and PuGs

I can't talk about your Guild Draeos as I have very little experience of it but the fact is that the previous guilds that progressed did so with considerable help from ringers.

There are purists such as Rorne who feel that this is the game take it or leave it but I happen to feel that there is a very real danger that without more flexible progression the game is in danger of suffocating. Please recognise this as a legitimate point of view even if you disagree.

Thinking about this w ehave 6 man progression up to Tier 3ish and for T7 plus why not for the chasm in-between where many people give up.

This isn't the very first time guild structure changed and certainly not the last one.
Who knows what's in the works. It takes time to design quality content.
Plus what Zedaine said, there is always a ton of stuff up to kill, yet people don't. I'm happy we have other means to progress our characters aside from just getting gear.

Wasn't expecting new content overnight just suggesting a direction.

All I can say about T3-6 Guilds is that when I was in one, getting a raiding force reliably on was like plaiting sawdust.

For me a source of long term concern is the declining number of people logged on. Last year the number peaked at about 450 around 23:00 GMT, recently I count 320 or so.

That and the recent high end Guild drama is what prompted the post

Yes and I actually don't agree with having to devote so much time but that's never going to change, it's basically one of the niches the game is built upon. What do you think brings people back to playing a 10 year old mmo beyond nostalgia and an appreciation for the new lore/other changes.

Do you think close minded up tight attitudes and point of views keeps players on SoD?

The user base is down significantly enough from where it was the year before that should be a wake up call something isn't right. People are either getting fed up or bored and leaving.

I'm flat out telling you I want 12 man content and not just exclusive fan club tier stuff like emberflow and abyss. Try it for a lower tier raid bracket and let the players dictate if they choose to embrace it or not.

Stuff is left untouched for a reason they don't have the means to do so or the loot sucks for the effort involved so they grind tomes or something else instead.

Adding a chunky sized XP bonus or loot that can scaled based on how long a raid targets been left untouched up to a certain cap threshold would be incentives to kill things they might normally just bypass.

Problem is that still doesn't exactly help the people struggling to get 18 people together for a raid do the math 12 doesn't equal 18.

Your about as receptive to change as a republican is or the catholic church is to the idea of evolution.

but 9 people = 18 just sayin don't be bad
And I'm just sayin fucking douche bag attitudes like yours are the reason less people are playing than last year. Choke on a dick and die slow. I'm sick and tired of shit fuck high and mighty attitudes like yours on SoD. It's bitches like you that ruin the game for others. Now go on your faerie little way and derail another tread you piece of shit fuck your mom in the ass with no Vaseline you queer pit stain on society.

Seriously I don't care what the repercussions of this are it was worth getting that out and they can do what they well, but I want this message to be heard loud and clear Draeos find another persons Cheerios to piss in and hell with that goes twice to Rorne as well he's just as bad a troll if not more so.

I'd be interested in knowing where you get your population data from. Regardless enjoy your bans.

i wasn't trolling or anything, Seriously most our raids are 9 people boxing, if we are lucky we get 12 RL people and only 6 people boxing. Its kinda how you have to do things if you wanna progress, Just need to know what the best/easyest combos are for boxing. Like, Dps/Dps or Dps/Tank Healer/Tank Caster/Caster Healer/Healer. And not stick a Melee dps on a healer. Good boxing combos can make boxing a fight alot easyer, You just need the right setup and good people.

P.S. I was Trolling a bit but i mean come on dude don't take it so seriously

MORAL OF STORY: FORMING A GUILD THAT CAN RAID 18-MAN CONTENT IS HARD WORK BUT THE REWARDS ARE WORTH IT.

Sigh,

I regret that we can't have a sensible discussion without having someone going ballistic and possibly ruining the thread.

Personally, I have tried to make a reasoned argument in favour and as I said previously not expecting anything immediately merely suggesting a direction.

Obviously I am not an expert on the server population, the numbers I was quoting were just the numbers said tobe in game at a roughly similar time but there do seem to be less people on the server than about a year ago or am I worng about that?

One point you miss Draeos is that if you are regularly 9 boxing 18 toons at T9 then you have 9exceptional players and are very lucky indeed. Most guilds have maybe 4 or 5 very good players and then another 12-13 of decreasing ability.

I don't think any of us disagree that maintaining a low tier guild is very difficult it's just whether or not you could ease the pain with some 6/12 man content and I would beg you to consider this in longer term development.

Well i was getting at T4-6 almost none of the droll spam cure ****** hide behind this wall tank and spanks are hard to box, this would let you setup your base pretty easy, But yes we have alot of solid people and are probly very lucky

That sounds awesome Zae, and completely fun. More encounters that require something beyond pushing button x, and doing that y times, can only be good for the game. A zone set-up like cmal, where you have to earn keys to progress, and each area is harder than the last, would be great for this, and then you could actually scale it between tiers, if you chose. (just an idea.)
