More alignment shift quests

I think it would be great if there were more quests that offered an alignment shift depending on how you answered specific conversations with quest npc's and/or the choices you made completing those quests.

I ask because I chose my deity and heartlands faction at a time when I really didn't know what I was doing and before I read up on how deity spec's and etc. worked. I'm a necro, I chose my deity (gradalsh) at a very early level and my heartlands faction (COI) around level 40 when I was basically just killing stuff and doing quests for xp.

It's been pretty difficult being on COI faction and attempting to increase my evilness for Gradalsh. I have managed to get up to 11% deity spec, and have done quests from wiki that offer an evil shift.

I was thinking of something like having quest npc(s) in the deity zones that offer quests solely for the purpose of alignment shifts. For instance, Gradalsh would have npc(s) in Entropy that would speak to you once you reached a certain percent deity spec (perhaps one for 5% and then progress to another once you've reached 10% deity spec). They would offer specific tasks to complete out in Dalaya that, once completed, would shift your alignment. The higher deity spec percent you have, the more difficult the task.

Depending on what those quests are, they would shift for lawful, neutral, and chaotic or good, neutral, evil. So, for instance, Gradalsh quests would assist in shifting toward chaotic and evil.

Just food for thought, really.

Nothing in SoD was quite as funny to me as watching Zurkka frantically comb the wiki for quests with alignment hits every time he does a new quest and some ambiguous answer throws his spec % out of whack.

I support. Deity-swearing should be fun and flavorful, not min-maxed and "Don't swear chaotic unless you're a bard or rogue."

i can understand how someone without knowing of these things beforehand can "suffer" the unmaxxed deity spec due to lack of hits or hits not beign worth a whole lot in gneral. i manged to egt my tarhansar sworn (chaotic, good) warrior to 20% very late into her time in sod and it took quite a few quests to get there (vah, pofire, random lowbie quests around dalaya ect)

if nothing quest wise is intended to be added anytime soon perhaps gm hosted events of some form can offer deity spec such as
Gm-generic jerk presents your with 6 choices and you must choose only choose 1!
1 = set a box of kittens and puppies on fire and eat the remains (chaotic evil)
2 = kill that anooying guy that keeps everyone awake at night (chaotic good)
3 = steal a box of lost and found belongings chaotic)
4 = walk away = neutral
5 = return a lost coinpurse to lost and found (good)
ect...
can make it even more involved where you actually get to perform the actions chosen to make it more "lore" friendly and interactive.

Such NPCs (and quest lines) exist for most deitys. They even result in nice deity augs!

How about a quest for redemption so you can swear to the diety you wanted. Im chaotic and evil but somehow my god rejected me because i killed a couple of his weak useless minions. If he really was a chaotic evil god he would give no fucks about some minion that was obviously too weak to serve anyway.

Yeah i agree with solo.
When i was low level people told me to make sure i swear and get a diety, and there was some chick that had a similiar name to enthan, and now im divine light forever.

By no means am I disagreeing with anyone in the thread, but there are a ton of hits scattered around, many of which never hit the wiki. Any of the big questlines have a lot. The diety quests will obviously give hits in that direction, but there are many outside of all those also. There are hits in oggok mines, pofire like someone mentioned (at least 2 or 3 there), minor hits scattered throughout the refuge and murk quests, etc. Personally I went a relatively easy route with silver crown althuna on my shaman, and didn't go bad at all with COI Jayla on the monk, but started out nowhere near where I needed to be on him, and over the course of making it to 20% took a double digit number of hits in the wrong direction either not being careful or just giving an answer that had a different result than I expected. Basically don't hold your breath waiting for new hits to get implemented. Just quest a lot and keep your eyes and ears open and you'll eventually hit 20 if you give that much of a damn.

Done it. Only thing left on it is to get the evasive deep First Ruins drop.

Done Murk quests of which some offer alignment shift. Have the clicky muddy shield.

Done the oggok mines, the ogre in oggok that wanted his beloved's head, the beggar dude in Newport, and many others. Once I realized the importance of my deity spec (somewhere in my mid 50's two years ago), I've been answering any quest with multiple options with an answer that sounds the most evil in hopes of an alignment shift.

This suggestion isn't something I'd beat myself up about or whine about if it didn't get done. Just thought it'd be a nice idea to have more quests that offer alignment shift and/or quests implemented that were specifically intended for alignment shifts.

There are quite a few quests in Ikisith that gove you nothing but alignment hits (and a bit faction). Just have to find them.

Also let me add that your choices for heartland faction and deity were ...most unfortunate.

It's workable, I ended up picking Gradalsh because I was already chaotic evil, this is after I finished the complete CoI aug. If I can fall ass backwards into it, someone who is actively trying should be able to pull it off.
