Monk FD & Weight Limit

I guess it is kind of annoying to have to constantly bank coinage, maybe some quested coin purse item that reduces the weight of money could be added. Aside from coinage though the weight limit is still fine.

The FD issue was discussed a bit in this thread from a while ago:

http://www.shardsofdalaya.com/forum/index.php?topic=11140.0

Allielyn put an approximate rate of 5% failure on monk FD. Where the monk FD failure rate needs to be is essentially entirely up to the people working with class design. The only effect it really has on raids is time delays from monks dying. So whether the rate needs to be increased, decreased, or stay the same is basically entirely subjective. You can't compare it to any other class because monks are undoubted THE pullers and can do stuff that SKs and necros pretty much can't.

It still would be nice for some way for the higher end monk to decrease the failure rate to something like say 3%. There have been a lot of suggestions in this thread on how this could be done, be it from skill mods, an increase in the cap, or that tome system that will be implemented. But yeah, its hard to pinpoint a number where it should be at.

Maybe some more parsing of actual FD fail rates would be good, it sounded like Monance is working on that.

Yeah im up to about 1200 test FDs right now, but i wanna get at least 2-3k more or people will just bash me again. Until now ive found that with no mob the fail rate is lower than with 1 mob agroed. It MIGHT be coincidence, but i dont wanna post more to that atm, as you might understand. Have been bashed enough already.

I think a "FD tome" after like 250-300 AAs would be ideal. I dont think Wiz wants to raise the skillcap over 200, or i guess the MQ gem would have been changed to FD and not Dodge (thats just an assumption)

im on it ;)

K guys. I will be pretty busy IRL for the next month, so I wont be able to further test this until im back and got more time... Im just going to post the results i got until now. As it is kinda impossible to parse a successful FD i had to write all the infos down, and cant supply you with a "valid" parse. Here goes:

FD without a mob (no agro on anything)

1000 FDs, 24 Fails = 0.024 = 2.4 %

Thats pretty nice actually. In all this time I had 2 double Fails. Acceptable

FD with 1 mob agroed (used the mob on the right side in Lab, lightblue spider)

1000 FDs, 36 Fails = 0.036 = 3.6 %

I really have no clue why there was more fails. In all this time i only had 1 single double fail. The fail rate was 1.2 % higher than without a mob agroed.

In comparison to the 1st results without a mob agroed, there was a 50 % raise in fail rate from 24 to 36 fails. (notice: Raise in fail rate. The actual FD fail rate was just 1.1 % higher)

Overall, the results about the actual % of fails was rather a positive suprise for me.

Unfortunately i dont have the time for further testing right now, as i will use the actual time i have to play raiding instead of FDing over and over again. When i get back I will test with 2 mobs agroed, and then proceeed to the more than 2 mobs. You are all welcome to do the testing as well, especially for those that are just going to say: 1000 FDs is not enough. I agree that its a very small number for statistics. Go ahead and do your own testing, and post your results.

Something thats not offical but ive noticed in testing: There seems to be a chance for a fail, when there is a bit of PL. Kinda comparable to the "Fizzle on Lag" Phenomenon. But this, right now, is just speculation. Feel free to flame away, anyway ;)

Have a nice summer

PS: I got the Easy Tmap Bag yesterday ! Wooooot !

Coincidence. I will comment on the actual data sometime later.
