Light Blue Solo Experience

The XP off of light blues solo was right where it should have been previously: it gave classes that could not solo efficiently or undergeared players something to kill and still gain good XP while looking for a group or just soloing. The previous XP that was given off light blues has been cut by about 60% and I think that it's pretty excessive. Solo I now get ~1100 from the previous ~2600 from the same mob.

Now, I don't want to point fingers here, but I'm pretty sure this change was made for one specific person, and I think it's really unfortunate to penalize everyone because of this. I know of a large amount of 60-65 players that have/still go to zones to solo light blues when there are no groups, small amounts of people online, or even just casual players and this change really hits those players hard.

For normal experience this does not matter, you get a -25% area penalty and that usually deters people from hardcore farming zones out. However, with tomes there is no such penalty. I would suggest that one is implemented that would deter from such hardcore farming of light blues, such as a -25% or even -50% (about where it is after the changes today) after say one tomes worth of experience has been obtained from a zone and restore the previous light blue XP. I think this would be a great alternative solution that wouldn't penalize everyone as harshly.
 
I agree wholeheartedly.

I have not yet started on my tomes, so I cannot comment there, but with this patch it effectively ruined what little experience areas I could get solo.

Before this change I could get an AA every hour and forty minutes soloing light blues, there is no way I'll even bother if its gonna take almost four hours per AA.
 
Light blues were giving way more exp for way less challenge than dark blues. Regardless of any "grinding takes too long" arguments, that is out of wack. It's possible the nerf was excessive, however.
 
The bonus from killing 60+ dark blues seems to have poofed too, was that intentional as well?

That's really odd, friday I was killing tasdrakh's in kedge and I got ~11.2k and today I got 9.5k, duo in both cases. /shrug
 
I don't recall the exact numbers, but I'm 90% sure that in EC I was getting 9k a kill on orc footman before the change, and now they pass out a whopping 5950 at 0% area bonus. And also crystal seers, which used to be 12k-13k a kill, hand out 9185, also at 0% new area.

I am a little confused.
 
It should also be taken in to consiteration, that alot of end-game (top equiped lvl 65 with lots of AA's) soloers, will now start hitting camps of easy Dark Blue mobs, that noob's (lvl 65's with few AA's and bad gear) used to group.

I don't have any tomes and I often solo in Lasanth for aa's. With this new patch light blues are worth 50% of what they used to be. I think this new patch penalty is way too harsh.
 
Yeah, this nerf obviously made me a sad panda as well. The change 3-4 days ago to dark blue exp was to 60+ level mobs only (or so I thought). With Safiya's exp being adjusted both during the change and after the change (yesterday), it makes me think otherwise. Does the exp bonus affect ALL dark blue mobs, or just those over a certain level?
 
All as far as I can tell, the pumas and scorps and other mobs in EPL bounced XP wise in the same manner, I just didnt wanna post more logs, I can if needed. I am not sure on the level of those mobs either but Id be shocked if the pumas and such are 60+.

Most animals int he plaguelands are under 55, and frenzieds are 56-58. I thought I noticed some dark blue difference yesterday, but I really don't notice exact numbers. I think the way Wiz scaled down the exp for when players got higher may have affected all mobs for us level 65s.

Didn't the excessive farming of one person cause the implementation of anti farming code? Similar situation. One person has used one specfic are to the point where it is being changed.
 
This change really blows. Pretty much the only mobs my rogue can solo are lightblues and thats with decently highend raid gear and max AA.

Please reduce the severity of the change. maybe not as much xp as before, but not as little as now. :(
