fishing

Ok got the net and the spear both drop off gnoll fisherman and the spear doesn't have to be visible to drop. It's time to go get some tuna. Thanks for the help everyone.

Um, 137? Do you mean 157 at Wyvernfang? If it's really 137, then obviously I shouldn't bother going there.

Also, I spent 100-140 baits on each zone, sometimes more. I realize 15 minutes sounds like a short time, but that is about 150 attempts if you do it every ten seconds or whatever the timer is. I probably really spent about half an hour in each zone since it takes awhile to get to the fishing spots. I spent nearly an hour trying to get through and to the lake in the plaguelands.

Also, it seems like a lot of you guys used the fishing equipment back when it could give you +15, when it doesn't do nearly that much now.

Yea I meant 157 don't know what I was thinking. Stefan get the equipment get to 157 and you can get tuna. Equipment gives +6 total. I've caught 2 tuna so far and gotten 1 skill up.

FYI Hassan, your hilarious signature image makes most pages unviewable (for me - I assume others too) due to the file size.

When i had 156, i did have a +10, aye...not +15...back then we couldn't equip both the net and spear. Now with both and the pole, you can have +6, which should be close enough. Again, Wrig, at the time, only had like a +5 from the pole, I think... He later got the spear from me, but was still still was able to skillup in SoS prior to that, albeit VERY slowly. So, I guess confirmed skill to start again in SoS can be considered 161, if that's what you're looking for. As for the hour and a half per zone idea....don't get used to that, by any means. In the latest zone, I'm lucky to get even 1 skillup per hour :/

Maybe it's my turn for bad 'rolls'

I do realize that it won't stay that way forever, but at skill of 150s, I figured that half an hour to an hour was long enough to judge most zones.

The worst part is with skill ups so slow trying to find a new place to fish means having to stay in a zone a very long time just to discover if it is above/below your level. Good thing Im set in SoS for several more skill ups.

Well I'm slowly nearing the end of the nurse shark, yellow Angelfish, Runa triad. Does anyone have any advice of where to go at the 190-195 area or whenever those fish skill ups stop?

I will accept answers in the form of riddle if that's how you would like to give it to me.

To be thy
Is to be this
For this fish
Is forever bliss

(Note: This riddle was pulled out of my ass and has no meaning)

Dont forget all that you can take your + skill gear off after something goes trivial and get more skill. At least that how it works with smithing

Hmm, I thought that wasnt the case because Rivervale seemed to go tribial the same skill level for me as everyone who had +10 gear and at the time I only had +1.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's different for fishing. We do appreciate the tip though.

I am scrwed, you need to get into the level resctrited zones (I.E. level 40 required) to get in. the guy i leveled fishing on is level 9 ;(

So can I get a confirm that that's necessary for skill ups at some point?

Also on a related note: at what level can one enter MielC?

Ok I don't know why I'm posting this since I probably won't get any help but:

At 206 I tried fishing in Darkwoods and there is one fish which is exceptionally rare (Spikefang Darter) ao I assume it is a difficult catch for my skill level. However I've caught it maybe 6-10 times since last night and have yet to get a single skill up. Is this actually trivial to me? Am I wasting my time here? Is it just a horrible unlucky streak? If anyone has any advice on what to do at this skill I'd be glad to accept any at all.

It's supposed to go to about 209 or more. I ended up getting to 203 on this, catching a stack or 2 of them, and getting no skillups, while another was getting them more frequently. It's just the way the dice roll :/

Yeah found that out this morning when I got up to 210. I couldn't tell for sure because it just seemed to be coming up so rarely that out of the 6 or so I'd caught one should be a skill up but then after 207 the next could skill ups were pretty quick.
