Dev Dread Megathread

Enchanters rock, yeah, but mages are kinda meh. sometimes they shine and most of the time they are just not-as-good dps.

Getting this thread back on track here is another addition.

The infamous cleric AA Turn Undead
Now I mean I can understand if this doesn't seem like a pressing issue. As far as quality AAs go clerics got it good but man is this one a stinker.

For the low low price of a salad bowl of AAs you get
Rank 1: 500 DD/10% Slow (4 ticks)
Rank 2: 1250 DD/25% Slow (4 ticks)
Rank 3: 2500 DD/50% Slow (4ticks)

For the uninformed that probably looks pretty cool in theory but let me break it down why it's not. First off the cooldown on this ability is 1 hour and 12 minutes!! Luckily though for the low cost of 6 more AAs on top of the other 18 you can reduce this cooldown by 30%!! Now a little under every hour you can still not even bother pressing this button because you don't want to bring down some mob wrath on you for 50% slowing them in an attempt to do mediocre damage and while hypothetically you might be able to pull off this slow in a clinch, when it's a gamble between a living cleric vs a dead cleric if your own common sense doesn't beat you over the head your group/guild will for popping this bad boy off and dying. Oh and did I mention it's unaffected by Bane Enhancement.

Turn Undead is bad bad, make the damage tick 4 times and let it crit and be affected by focuses

yeah i am mad about turn undead also... i would rather axe it completely and give clerics a different 70 minute activated aa because it's just dumb.. i t would be a good thing in like diablo 2 or something where aggro doesn't matter but here it is basically a suicide button anywhere it would be useful... maybe undead festering??? i dunno

On the topic of clerics, I know it's a small thing but I was really hoping the cast time on lifeward could be reduced. It's hard to get, and there is a 7.5s rez clicky from MK which is better for rezzing raids.

As I recall, spell slots were not often a very big issue for me at lower levels, and I was playing a shaman. I'm not sure why that was, maybe it was just not grouping as much, never getting buff bots, and not having any clickies.
That being said, it would make it a lot less annoying to buff if you had combined stat buffs at a lower level. On the other hand, it would kind of take away one of the cool things about breaking in to the higher level game.
