Clickies

In the spirit of evaluating clickies, can we also mention insanely gimped clickies?

Shaman Starfall quest earring - really? 8 second cast for a low level spell the class already has? Must wear to cast? Please evaluate. Thanks.
 
I can't believe I wasted my time reading all these stupid comparisons. Give me my time spent back thanks. Nothing said has any effect on the game.

strat leaks: pull mobs with slow earring. Also, the stats on are not at all bad for an untwinked level 30-39 shaman, so what's the big deal about must equip? I loved the hell out of this earring when I got it.

Yeah this is basically what I did leveling up, it's really a pretty awesome earring and I cried when I deleted it.

In the matter of this thread I basically agree with Kjiel, Hugh, Bango, et al. These clickies by no means diminish any class role, i mean really if people don't want to take you its because of certain fight mechanics or you are just bad.

That explains EVERYTHING. I was trying to figure out what essential item was abbreviated to BBR.

Potions aren't really clickies in my book, but BBR is pretty good to have on everbody in the raid.
 
Lol, glad someone asked. I felt too dumb to. I was thinking maybe the something black rose or something, heh...
 
Main value of clickies for me is when you are farming or running from zone to zone as a duo.

I think as a general rule they make certain actions such as curing miscellaneous diseases easier rather than being game breakers but they seem to me to be more useful for melee/tanks than casters.

On that point would suggest that Wand of Gate is far better than Worms and maybe you would consider increasing mana it gives a tad. Only a suggetsion
 
to sum up: clickes are mostly fun toys from a dev point of view and sometimes they end up being the difference between a win and a wipe if creatively applied. nothing could make me happier! more clickies for everyone!!!!!

Clickies are mostly a method of giving caster functionality to melee classes, thus tilting the already unbalanced nature of the game even further in their direction. This makes me sad.

Aside from summon food and summon drink what are some examples of spells on clicky items that overlap your abilities and contribute to your redundancy in groups and raids. Any items with clicky summon mod rod/relic nukes/relic DS/60+ or relic pet summon/etc would be good examples for you as a mage. I warn you though there is a little bit of hyperbole in this thread so you may want to hold off posting until you have compiled the list of items lest your posts be accidentally mistaken for less than empirical evidence.
 
There are some really nice caster clickies. And having things for melee spices up the game for them.

That is NOT what I am claiming.

I am claiming that without clickies melee are overpowered with respect to casters.
Clickies generally supply caster functionality to melees (that is NOT saying they can replace casters) and thus make the imbalance worse.

I would say that invis/see invis/root/snare/slow/malo/lev/summon food and water/heal/nuke/summon pets and probably many more are the function of casters and have no place on melee/tank characters. The balance of the game would be much improved if they were so removed.

Just as it would spice up the game for casters to have a invul clicker or a FD clicker or an assissinate backstab clicker. But even though this would be a huge step in the direction of balance between the classes it aint going to happen. And neither should it for exactly the same reason that melee should not be getting caster functionality.
 
Like the fame-point FD clicky and the tradeskilled escape clicky? HMMM?

Well if there has to be clickies I guess I could live with them ALL being ultra rare fame awards or alternatively trade skill items that no one makes, are ultra expensive, and are use once and gone.
