[Wiki] Mountain King on the Raid Tiers page

While we're on this - is it even possible to kill ofgats right now? Everyone claims he is bugged but I don't know for sure.
 
I think that it is technically possible using an absolutely idealized group - something like pal, sk, bard, enchanter, sham, cleric. preferably the #1's of all those classes.

but on tier, probably not. it's bugged in a way that includes 8 adds to the fight that are invulnerable (only an SK could pick them up, and would be taking massive damage) as well as all the high geomancers and ofgats himself choosing a random person to nuke for 6000 dmg every 18 seconds, and there can be multiple nukes on a target. so the odds of someone getting instantly killed are really high. add in ofgats pulsing manadrain.

or option b: no one knows the real strat
 
The trash on the way to MK will mess you up if you don't pull it right and repops fast. No way someone soloing is getting past it. Need a lot more deeps and heals.
 
Train death-pull into the next hall and fight it all there with that terrorsaur - no problem.
 
how does that even work if it spawns a mountain king that has the same stats and abilities as the real one. doesn't mountain king flurry and rampage and maybe hit around 800-1k per hit on a tank. the one time i tried him as a bad 7k mana, 3.5 codex healer and only healer in the group while we were farming for sextants he was at like 75% hp while i was at about 40 mana and then the terrible earthquake things interrupted a crucial heal and ponolus spiked dead. the group's 2 dps were a 5 codex rogue and 5 codex ranger
 
ok but how does that explain a paladin soloing him unless the quest version is significantly weaker. "i'm scratching me noggin ere mate" as someone from europe may say
 
ALSO, if you do the quest and get to the part where you have to solo Mountain King REDACTED baddies will complain for hours about getting beat to it and then it will be respawned and they will kill it but YOU have to delete your novelty trophy loot because REDACTED is butthurt.

i think we could probably kill mountain king now that a lot of our characters are tier ~8 geared but we're mostly a bunch of big gay casual player babies who pretty much never find it up with enough people online to do it in-guild due to him dropping tomes everyone wants long after they no longer need the gear. good night sweet prince

I knew there would be issues with that whole thing once Marza told me about it. I am glad it was handled...poorly.
