sorry if this topic has been asked before, but currently my brother, dad and i are interested in rolling on SoD, after taking a break from eqlive for a few years. we would be 2boxing each and thus have a full group. what classes would make your perfect group?

im thinking
warrior - tanks
cleric - heals, resses
shaman - slows, buffs, spotheals, dots
enchanter - mez, haste
wizard - dps, ports
bard - buffs

id like to fit a monk in there somewhere, and i know a shaman/bard/chanter is overkill but on eqlive i couldnt live without those ;p haste ftw!

appreciate your replies!

We got humorously farther through Emberflow than we thought possible with a Necro/War, Cler, Bard, Mage, Rogue. Necro functioned as Monk and Enchanter along with Bard.

Paladin or SK for exp groups in my opinion.
Cleric
Shaman as they are first to get SoW which is super handy at low levels where you'll all start, first to get regen, and with all new characters, the stat buffs will come in very handy also hp buff stacks with cleric/paladin
Enchanter for mana regen and crowd control
Mage for summoned gems, pet weapons, damage shield, mod rods, and offtank pet
Wizard ports and dps

paladins - own grp tanks. Paladins can: CC, heal grp, self-heal, pull, tank and buff.
druid - dps/heals/ds/won/ports/sow/regen
wizard - burst dps
shaman - slow/buffs/infinite heals
rogue - steady pokey dps
monk - for the once in a while that you need single pulls

Paladin, Rogue, Wizard, Cleric, Bard, Rogue/Ranger/Mage
AE Tank, Sustained DPS, Burst DPS, Heals, Bards, Sustained DPS

Pally, Enchanter, Wizard, Bard, Cleric, Druid

but it really does depend on the zone. In some situations the paly would be replaced by a warrior or the enchanter by a monk or the druid by a monk etc etc.

Bards over chanters, imo.

PS. the best group ever is Mage, Mage, Mage, Mage, Mage, Shaman.

But thats on Live.

Monk; Tank puller
Monk: DPS
Beastlord: DPS and later on cat crack (spiritual light line)
Shaman: Heals, Buffs, and slows
Druid: More heals, some buffs, DS, ports
Enchanter: CC, haste, mind candy

that makes up my perfect group, if you dont plan to do any uber content and just xp and have fun, i think its golden, i know when i grouped with 2 other monks with my own monk we didnt need a healer, nothing could hit us, and died FAST!

if we ever did go down past 90% hp we just used a bandage and presto, 100% again..

personally, i like being the oddball :) so i guess my group setup is tailored to that end.

oh btw, do the bard haste songs stack with enchanter/shaman ones? like those bard overhaste v2 songs back on eqlive

might drop the bard if there are no overhastes in game hehe

Overhaste isn't exactly the right word for whats in this game.... There is no haste cap per say, but you can only get 1 haste per source (item, spell, song, misc) if I'm recalling properly.

Generally depends on the zone and who happens to be on at the time. I don't do pick up groups anymore so it's usually just a matter of which 6 people are currently online in guild (or which 3 or 4 people are online and who do they have access to).

Usual set up is pal/war, cleric, bard, monk, whoever, whoever. The last two parts of the equation are pretty irrelevant to me and the tank is based on which zone we're going to.

Pal
Dru
Shammy
Wiz
Rogue
bard

Shamans= debuffs, dots, nevery worrying about the a healer being oom.
Clerics may be the best healers, but druids are better all around. Pally ae tank ftw, wiz+rogue = things dying fast

Edit: swapped in bard because of ridiculous utility
