What would you like to see in Ikisith?

Things like wandering NPCs that you can talk to and they will give you a heads up or something. Like say an NPC is in the Dreadlands, could have him warn you "Don't go over into the snow part, there are dragons". Makes it feel more realistic. Plus it creates a sort of unknown factor. I liked it when there was like one very aggressive/dangerous mob that is 'sometimes' up in an easier zone, makes people be on their toes. Also along this frame of thought, is to force people to use the lesser known areas of zones for quests or mobs.
Or...say, I always thought it would be neat if you get an HP bonus for sitting in a specific area, like inns or bars or such. Perhaps as well mana regen if you sit next to a lake. Or ooc abilities limited only to towns. Would be cool to have more area-based circumstances to help being immersed in the game.
I'll try to think of more, but personally I would like to see more of a roleplaying element added into this expansion. Though I realize this is easier said then done.

These are some good ideas imo, although it would be more scripting work (and more load on the server?) But the idea of having more npcs go about their business (like the citizens that walk around Athica, that one dark elf that walks around the lake, or the group of Blackscale that attack an npc spawning out of a grave in Obisidan Shards) except they would be more engaging if hailed, and do some of the things mentioned above. I thought it would be neat to see scripted npc tradesmen and couriers that would make routes delivering goods between cities (I know it would be an unreasonable amount of work) and idk, they might get attacked by other npcs because of faction, which might drive the price of food / water / gems higher or somehow affect the economy; to which players could intervene (not to purposely reflect any current world events). It would actually be bringing back some old mid-90's rpg npc ideas before the advent of the Internet and mmo gaming (although Oblivion comes to mind). Just some more ideas.

I'd love to see some exp zone progression with raid implications similar to the trials of PoP. The Justice trials were probably my favorite part about that era of the game.

I think new tomes would be the best way to managed character progression. Allow players to do multiple, smaller tomes with maybe 50-100 AA's worth to complete and have the rewards smaller. They could be things such as buff modifiers, pet tomes, tank mitigation, and stuff along those lines. Personally I feel tomes could be used as a furtherance of AA's on a scale that is closer to the AA's that currently exist.

New aug types would also be interesting. I have seen discussion of companion strength/health augs and could see how that may be overpowered, but maybe an aug that raises your current comp str or health by one tier?

New spells are always welcome, so long as there is indeed a new BST pet in there

Some suggestions:

All the above are great ideas....However, I do not want to see mounts in this game! Seriously, travel is very easy in SoD. It would ruin it. I remember being lvl 30 thinking I was the shit, b/c the pixie fairies could not kick my ass anymore; then all of a sudden I would see others (red cons to me) zipping past me in Lower Faydark. And, I would think I can't wait to be a red con to some little sap warrior killing pixies for plat...Yes, at the lower levels getting around on foot is somewhat cumbersome, but it makes the game MORE...(and you learn the lay of the land and connecting zones *is there a reason to their madness?). I have not played many MMO's, and those that I have--I only played very briefly (Diablo, only to the 4th guest dungeon; EQ, before it was LIVE; and The4thComing, about 1 hour total in my life). But I am pleased to announce that my one year mark in SoD is coming soon. With all that being said these are "MY" suggestions for this game, and not ideas from others (WoW or "old" LIVE) that I would like to have incorporated into SoD.

1-Something for non-guilded, 65's who don't have 150+aa's to do..
2-(this is just a fun idea--might not work due to "corruption" of the younger generation)An game brothel in new city. Be careful what you lie down with, because you could get up with fleas or something way worse (hint, hint an incurable disease [Crabs that bite you at random inflicting damage...hahaha] lasting an hour, however, the upside may be a [Cootie] Raego) lol. 50-50 chance of either one. Plus, this could affect alignment...
3-Casino. Chicken races, betting on the outcome; high card; in game poker (played by actual players and NO NPC's--and mind you I have no clue how hard that would to implement something like this, but you guys have done wonders before); blackjack; etc...
4-Speaking of alignment, more alignment quest.
5-Malath God Zone...that is really a personal one (my God zone is not yet up...)
6-One zone questing; much like the Ruby Hilted Long Sword; everything in one zone. Could even implement a scavenger hunt/timed/versus NPC quest--it would be cool.
7-I don't know how many zones this 'development' is going to open, but definitely a new boat/gondola system would be nice there.
8-NPC that attack in the city. Script: "You catch Mart, the vagrant, trying to pickpocket you. He attacks."
9-Making zone Factions at war with one another, and the "current" ruling faction changing depending on random hostile sieges. i.e. One day "ruler A" is in reign of "zone x"; you may enter the city b/c not KoS to faction of "ruler A". However, "zone X" is seized and "ruler B" now reigns, KoS faction now in charge of "zone X". (REALLY LIKE THIS IDEA). Would have to make player choose b/w factions with quest or something along those lines.
10-Class/Race festival...such and such city is having a gnome day festival...free buffet tables (ale, water, foods, All items "no rent" of course, and get inventive with what is available--dragonfly paste, pickled giant toes/balls(eye)*making it PG again).

This are just a few ideas of "fun" and new content you could include. This game is lacking the fun appeal at the higher ends...When you are noob, there is so much available to do. When guilded there are always raids to attend, when unguilded there is the slim possibility of great AA grinding. But, nothing really to pass the time while trying to find that "solid" group to grind with. I mean you can only trade skill so much (says the fisher).

How about a zone where as long as you keep Kaezulian troops out of all players get some kind of buff while in Ikisith. Perhaps Kurn's Tower has a Beacon that emits beneficial magic across Ikisith to whichever side controls it.

I do like the idea of more class specific or skill specific tomes. As an enchanter, the idea of doing more spell damage isn't exactly what gets me going (well, sometimes it does, but DPS isn't exactly an enchanter's main job). A healer or straight DPS class benefits pretty clearly from the current tome structure, but it becomes less beneficial when you get into some of the other classes. I'd love the ability to further customize a class, where the decision you make can alter the way your character is played. As it is now, the only thing that separates one enchanter from another (outside of their gear) is the amount of AAs they have - the end result becomes the same - it's very linear. This is the same for the other classes I would think.

Kind of like, a crude example, a Diablo 2 type skill tree? choose one skill over another type of deal?

I'd for one would like to see more long but continually rewarding quests that DO NOT REQUIRE raids..

something as epic (as in long) as the The Vah, but one that is doable with a group, or even duoing..
i understand that the reward cant be anywhere as powerful as the rewards from the vah line.. but depending on how much time is required to complete it (preferably not time spent camping a lamely rare drop) it could still be a pretty good reward..

also, depending on the length, it should give increasingly better rewards, like the faction line quests, or the MQ.

and the last thing.. id like to be able to start it pre 65, even pre 60! (yeah i know, most people dont even remember those levels)

just my 2cp :)

Giant Vs dragon raid encounters where you need to have a raid filled with allied of 1 type and then can help like the group your alied with to either defend or take a zone. Kinda like the GM event from REALLY really long ago where GotW allied with the giants tried to defend Storms eye from Ruin and the dragons. That was epic. A raid zone where that would be a scripted encounter would be awesome.
