what kind of music do you listen to?

I'll go from Black Flag to The Cure to Dave Matthews Band to Bleeding Through, to The Shins, to Fall Out Boy, to Explosions in the Sky, to 2Pac and BIG to just about anything you can think of!

Classical - some jazz, Aghora and Dresden Dolls.

I'm a musican, so I play/write most of the songs I listen to. <3

I listen to a lot of different music, but my primary is Country. What can I say, it's what I grew up on. Pretty much, though, I like anything I can sing to. I'll listen to most music except rap, hiphop, acid rock, punk, and so-called dance music. My favorites are country, folk (especially the 60s stuff), bluegrass, southern gospel (I'm pretty much pagan, but I'll never get over my love of southern gospel), 60s/70s R&B...I'm sure you can see the trend. Like I said, pretty much anything I can sing to.

Most of the Romantic Era Composers,
Gregorian Monk Chants,
International Indie Pop, Trance,
Gangsta Rap,
Music Mash-Ups of most sorts,
Hippie Musix (along the lines of Dispatch, Jack Johnson, Elliot Smith, and Fiona Apple)

And specifically..: Tool, Mudvayne, MatisYahu, Rage Against the Machine

Debussy is yum, by the way.

I mainly listen to:
Pink Floyd (including Syd's solo albums)
Doors
Beach Boys
The D
Santana
and some jazz, though I don't really have any favorite jazz players worth mentioning

OMG, homogenns been dipping in my koolaid.

Syd's pink floyd is the best, although I listen to pretty much all pink floyd. Have cd's by all on homo's list cept The D, not sure who that is. Also listen to country, mostly when going on killing rampages in GTA or doing PVP on SoD, helps me relax a bit and keep a cool head.

Listen to a lot of rock from late 60's through mid 90's, especially liking acid rock and 80's pop music.

Can't stand hiphop, rap, or any country/rock with any resemblence to hiphop/rap.

I tend to listen to a little bit of everything... I guess when just goofing off, I like Incubus and all their clone bands (Hoobastank, etc)... Ben Folds (by himself usually), MXPX, some Rap but not much of the recent stuff...

When I'm in a hardcore killing mood, I don't WANT to calm down... Disturbed, Drowning Pool, Prong, Pantera, etc.... Either that or some serious hardcore techno because I want something pulsing that I really don't have to think about much.

When relaxing, again I like Incubus for those times... Classical music FTW... and lately, I've been listening a lot to my baby's Baby Einstein Classical Favorites, but that will probably get old soon :) 2 months so far of listening to it almost every night.

I listen to a little bit of everything EXCEPT VERY twangy country, R&B, and the newer gangsta paint-yo-mama-white (c)rap.

People hate talking to me about music... I'm quite opinionated and stating that you like Hoobastank and Nickleback will get you nowhere with me. So pretty much, if you want to maintain a friendship with me (outside the internet of course) you either have to avoid music with me or be open enough to listen to what I like (which is superior).

Generally I like anything that is of quality... I like all the indie staples (Takk was disappointing Rabb, I can't really take this band seriously anymore), and also a lot of hardcore, or sometimes what people call "screamo"

Concert highlights are Radiohead in 2003 in Toronto and Gentleman Reg w/ Jason Collete w/ Apostle of Hustle w/ Stars w/ Metric w/ Broken Social Scene @ Ottawa last summer 2005.

My favorite band is probably Broken Social Scene, too. I also love Flaming Lips, Joy Division and a whole lot of other shit...

I'm almost exactly the same way, except reversed since I despise "hXc kids".

Although you listed Radiohead, and they pretty much own.

I'm not a hXc hipster or scene kiddy or anything but I do enjoy bands like Circle Takes The Square, The Fall of Troy, Saosin... sometimes generic indie post-rock stuff just sounds really dead to me and I need music with a little more energy.

If anyone hasn't heard of them, I highly recommend the album You Forgot It In People by Broken Social Scene. It's the best modern album I've heard. It covers such a wide spectrum of genres such as indie rock, indie pop, shoegaze, post-rock, while still keeping their own unique sound. Live, Broken Social Scene fluctuate from 8 to 20 or more musicians. They started off as sort of a post-rock venture of Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning, and many other artists from other bands chipped in. Soon the band grew into a huge collective, and is creating some of the best music around, dipping into all kinds of musical styles and talents.
