What is the role of the Shaman?

I don't believe shaman has lost it's edge.

Their slows are the best, mostly because yes, they are diverse, but they are still going to be less resisted on slows, which is a plus (and on a raid, you want slow to land fast, and let's not forget AA slow). I don't see shaman's role as a 'slowing' class. I always considered that a bonus. Shamans can choose almost any role, and do it quite well. Pad healing on raids/groups, dps on raids/groups, very needed buffs, and they can hold their own being the main healer for most tanks almost as well as a druid or a cleric. Not to mention their insane mana regeneration helps them pretty much excell at all of these things.

I don't know the answer to this question, so maybe you know something I don't Raherin. Are Shaman slows innately resisted less? (their modifiers are lower?) i.e = Shaman's Magic-based Slow vs Enchanter/Bard/Beastlord Magic-based Slow

Through loose testing on raids, seems that Beastlord Slow is pretty comparable--less mana to cast, less cool-down and lands just as effectively and with less aggro on raid mobs.

Enchanter Tash + Slow seems to be the same case with aggro. If we cast at the same time of an encounter (separate tries), the Enchanter can Tash + Slow without aggro, but the Shaman cannot Malo + Slow.

(of course Malo is more aggro than Tash, but is Shaman Slow more aggro than Enchanter Slow?)

Well, no. They aren't innately less resistant.

But having a series of slow spells with different resists, plus an AA unresistable slow make them the better slower. Since (unlike beastlord of chanter) they can be prepared for more than any situation the chanter or beastlord can be.

Nothing to prepare for is there :p

It takes 1 encounter to know what resist the mob needs, then from that point on you know whether or not the Shaman is the only slower, or all 3 classes can try slowing.

But yes, I admit Shamans are the best slowers with regards to diversity. The question is, do Shamans, Rangers, Paladins need a niche in the end-game?

Shamans are VERY close to being fine, but maybe a spell or AA that decreases mob resists on the next Slow cast? Something like that would be important for raiding, yet not a game-changing event.

Shaman unresistable AA slow?

They don't need another slow focused AA, as this one is already incredibly powerful.

Maybe being the best padder in the raid game will suffice as a specific class role.

What do you mean by 'padder'??

I'm completely unfamiliar with that term.

Pad healing. When an MT's HP are going down faster than the cheal chain can keep up with. The shaman throws a quick heal inbetween the clerics heals, keeps MT up.
