what 2 characters?

IMO SK/shaman would be amazing

pally/druid was very fun to get to 55

ranger/shaman or ranger/cleric are both great if you want to play a ranger =/

I'd be curious myself how a dual mage would fare though. One with an earth pet, the other with a water pet (root + slow). Both mages can heal their pets and this must be a pretty good DPS output.

i've done mage/wizard, the dps was insane and great at leveling up. Though around 55-60s the pet tanking isnt nearly as good as before, the mage pet heal is weak, and nukes from both chars got agro very easily. You also have no healing and have to rely on root/snare/kiting for CC vs more than 1 mob, which is no fun at all if you're in zones with mobs that agro and little room to move around.

Hi I'm new.

To address Jules & Nuli from ~2weeks ago:

I did this on live, somewhere in the timeline of Velious through PoP.
The initial strat was pretty straight forward:
-Fully buffed Air pet (for stuns) + HoT
-Mage Mala and Shm slow during pull
-DoT/Nuke respectively, have the shm drop a root if necessary.
(as a side note: air pet stuns were resisted on live as I remember in this era vs white mobs ~35% until above lvl 60, at which point it didn't make much difference. IIRC the pet spell info had a max lvl below endgame mobs)

We could take out pretty tough mobs as this duo. I think we started Highkeep Humans @ ~28 and carried that and hill giants through to 40. Occasionally we'd run into a spot where I'd need to pet heal, so it's a good idea to keep that up, even if 2boxing (would rather have the most efficient DoT's in game on the mob than burn down all his mana on heals... HoT's do well enough later on, and mage supplement makes it work quite well)

There comes a point, and I've seen other posts outlining strategies regarding pet chaining, while not the worst idea, I found it to be poor yielding at best, though it was my only way to deal with some named mobs. My strategy was more focused on non-casters and Root-Rotting them with my earth pet to supplement shm roots breaking from time or damage, or nuking (I noticed in my early-40's pet tanking wasn't a viable solution for much longer), and DISCIPLINE became very useful as soon as I could get it.

The summoned plate and proc weapons are cool and effective, yes, but in the later game you're not quite tanking with your pet anymore.

As a side note, I also raised up a Bard and a Ranger alongside his Shaman, and I found both to be a ton of fun, Ranger got a lot more fun after I dumped a ton in to AAs, but Bard was pretty cool all along. Bard + Shaman is going to be my duo, once I configure all my windows and get set up, but I always felt safest with Mag/Shm, which is probably easier for 2boxing anyway.

Good luck if you go for it!

um. This isn't live things are different (mages can't summonr armor till a high level, pet's aren't that great of tanks until you get the relic one, there are no disciplines).

Bard + shaman is awesome though!

I leveled up a SK / Sham combo and to be honest it was pritty awsome however there was alot of clicking. Eventually i ended up switching back to my cleric instead of the shammy so i could focus on bringing in more mobs and keeping agro. Maybe i'm just not as fast of a clicker as some ppl though.

I grouped with a guy who boxed mage / necro that was a pritty sweet combo too

Paladin / Shaman is pretty sweet too, the Paladin can heal him self while the Shaman slows.
Often when just farming easy stuff, the Paladin self heals while all the Shaman does is DPS.
VS Undead the Paladin can put out alot of DPS if you can pull and tank 4+.

But this combo really miss CC, if the combo cant tank and heal it, they cant do it.
SK / Shm really have an edge here. Pacify is decent, but its very limited.

why don't you go for something out of the blue... like two clerics, or two rangers... no one would see that coming! That way if one dies its like having two lives!
