Traekoth the Ancient - Adept Hunters, lvl 57 max to engage!

55 bard ready to go...available most weekends (anytime) and most weekday nights 9pm+  (EST), I dont play too often, so I won't be 58 within a 3-4 weeks probably.

All who can go at this time (have to check what time it will be for euro lol), let's meet IN darkwoods side, at red sun peaks zone. (I believe Traekoth is in darkwoods, unless wiki lies :), red sun peaks, because we can get a port to, easier than running from plaguelands.)

hmmm, may be a bit later than 5pacific, but thats about 1am euro time I think. Or even better whenever you see any of the Dobluthen only just send us a telll and we will gather up then, could be any day. all we really need is 2 more healers and DPS and we are set. we are bringing 2 tanks, 2 DPS, a chanter and a cleric.

let's try to meet once, even if we don't kill yet or whatever, just to meet, who's on, who's not on etc .... to go kill if we're at, or fix a hour to kill. (the forum is an easy place to meet, but that's another problem when it's about in-game! :p )

Damer here, a 57 cleric, willing to come if you need yet another cleric (nuts to all you non-main clerics you boxers)
 
Let's try to meet in darkwoods, near red sun peaks zone. (can get a teleport from wizard / druid to red sun peaks).
 
failed with 19 people, the main problem is the engage this guy hits too hard so the MT can't grab agro right away and summons the clerics right away. Another problem is the AoE fear which he uses right at the beginning which is pretty bad, my paladin at 4.6k HP really goddly gear(including PoT gear) 35AAs, fear resistance rank 2 did nothing for her and was not able to last long enough for CHs at a 25 pause. The whole group was geared almost the same. This guy is just way too hard. The rest of the raid did not had this gear, and I hope that the staff does not suppose everyone that engages this mob has Plane gear or other gear that is 50kpp+ of value. Because clearly those people dont need the gear traekoth himself drops. we got him down to 98%. He was not this difficult when I first killed it with my Shadow Knight Narmarratuk. We just kept losing our main tanks right at the beginning of the fight we didnt had a clear engage, and I think that is the problem. Considering that a Planes geared tank with 4.6khp+(paladin and warrior) this mob hitting for 400s adn AoEing for the 400s on top of that casting AoE fear is impossible for the common player in the 50s lvls. Btw raid was very organized, thanks everyone for coming looks like we will need more people for it, maybe about 30 peps for this with more padders, hopefully druids and shammys.

This is true, that Traekoth hit/casted so hard the tanks lasted only few seconds, even with their nice gear, it's more like we need tons of *meat engage* and then after, a real MT, and that, that's not possible.

With all 19 ppl, we 'only' lowered to 98% HP... something is wrong, but that's just what I think. (The rest of the raid didn't do anything, since the tanks died in few seconds).


Hope we'll make it next time, I'll still wait till I see Traekoth the Ancient Down, eating the floor of darkwoods.


Some will tell me that's idiot, but that's the LAST adept raid, before raiding high lvl dungeons and other 60+ places, let's make a good memorie, like a wonderful screen with the dead dragon, and in chat, tons of nice linked items it was carrying.

I remember the first traek raid with narm there. It wasn't very long after that traek got buffed, but we still managed to down him after the buff. He's definitely doable.
 
I took Traek out with Hood a few times a while back. One thing you can do is make sure every class that has the fearless stance (stoic shield) uses it (if they get before level 60 - im not sure).
 
fear immunity is okey, but what do we do about clerics being summoned because the mob's AoE adn melee tear them appart before they can stablish good agro? that seemed to be the problem when the tanks ddint got feared.
 
I would recommend having all clerix pad heal instead of CH. The range on pad heal is MUCH farther than CH range, it would be easy to stay out of range of fear and AE with pad healing range.

In addition, using a tank that can keep HEAVY aggro to start (war or sk) instead of a paladin (no offense, but paladins aren't so great at aggro generation anymore), might help.
 
well we ddint had a SK in raid, all we had was pal/war, Wars dont get fear immunity style, only pal/sk do.  When the war tryed to engage he will get feared right away.  so that was a big problem, like i said the engage was the problem.  If we had a clear engage would not have been any problem.  However seems like padding would have been ideal so that the clerics didnt had to start the CH chain way early.  The problem is with AoE now that cannot be avoided, that kills the rest of the raid in no time including healers. This seems to be an enounter that would been challenging even at higher lvls. Personally I think he is way too hard for its purpose, his DPS is insane. Maybe when you guys tryed it once he got buffed you guys were able to avoid AoE and Tsabayne can confirm that because he was there as well, however now his AoE is insane so I guess he got buffed again. Kinda like tarx the Stormfeather, when his AoE was avoidable he had lots of HP, now that his AoE is unavoidable his HP got nerfed a chunk. Perhaps same could be done with Trae.
