tome of striking I - question

Is there a limit to how many you can do? Also, I assume you can delete them after you're done like regular tomes?

No limit.
Safe to delete when done.
Safe to switch to a different tome mid way.
Safe to switch back and not lose any progress.

The system is also capable of mutually exclusive tomes (tomes which stop you from being able to learn other tomes in a set). Though they'll be named a bit different and none are available at this time.

Any plans on having fomelo or another resource that will list all the tomes a character has completed?

It's in progress. Our team is strong, but small. You'll notice FT is about fixed.

(Also another big thanks to dev-meyers for designing and implementing the new tome system. It was a rough few months, but there has only been 1 major bug, and that's only affected 1 person, and in all fairness they shouldn't have deleted that character!)

Lolin hard at this thread
answer the question, if you cant stfu
Id like to introduce the guy who tried to neg rep me to the users with 600+ unspent aa's so many that fomelo rolled over and displays them improperly. 75 aa's for one crit percent is AMAZING. If I actively played my rogue id be all over that shit like a fat kid on cake.

If you want to know of an awful tome look at the vitality I, 32 hp for god knows how many aas.

Yeah, so what percentage of the server population is in that position that it is so amazing for? Yeah....

Dont you know sod is top heavy!?!!

If your complaining about tomes your dumb sorry, be glad you finally got something to do after or besides the codexes.

Not every addition to the game has to be something that 100% of players will use. As Otcho said, this server is pretty top heavy. There are lots of characters (My guess would be 100-200 that are actively played) that have their 5 tomes completed.

Fomelolizer lists it at 81, and a fair number of those characters are retired.

tomes are awesome. Some class max useful AAs at 400 so 75 to complete X tome isn't that many especially for a good tome.

These give players such as me, or other lvl65s something to do solo/outside of raids. In my case, I have no guild anymore so this is how I can improve my character. Also its like getting an upgrade so continuously farming for hours on end for them is actually fun for me.

These tomes will eventually be used by everyone in a guild or not.

If it wasn't for the tomes, I probably wouldn't be playing anymore.

I also have met new people while going after tomes. And we trade or chat to keep the grind entertaining. They help interaction it seems also.

You are all assuming that the aa/power ratio was not a huge part of the problem.

Whatever the number of AAs per tome ends up being, tomes that provide increases in similar areas to tomes of power ought to be less benefit per AA for this reason. Tomes which provide bonuses like making your shout travel across nearby zonelines can be cheap, but strictly improving the power of characters isn't particularly necessary, and certainly shouldn't be quick.

Who has not been searched that has max tomes?

/shrug I'm sure there are a few.

Once fomelo tracks tomes correctly again, it'll probably show 90ish characters since it's outdated. So my original ballpark estimate of 100-200 was a little high. It's still a significant portion of the active player base, and are players that by default are investing more time in this game than others, so arguing against giving them more content doesn't make much sense to me.

I think the issue is more that people assumed some of these tomes would be niche enough to be worth doing perhaps while still on the path to finishing codices instead of very minor bonuses to allow 5 tome players to feel like they're not completely wasting experience they gain.

That being said I believe we've only seen the tip of the tome iceburg and many current ones coming out rule such as crit tomes, elemetal bonuses, extra ft allowance, etc so I guess it's probably better to hold off any judgment.
