Tiers 1-3 loot

Since they have been made kind of useless by adept loot being expable and Ikky BoE's,

What about going in and making tier 1-3 loots expable up to like tier 4 quality. Might encourage people to do those tiers again for things other then spell drops.

Probably just a crazy idea. But figured that is what this forum is for.

Not a bad idea, though most (if not all) Tier 1 loot is actually droppable. So it would be mostly Tier2-3 stuff that gets the boost, and actually makes the content worth doing again for those just breaking into the raid game. (Unless they filled all their slots with expensive BoE stuff.)

Yeah T1 raid mobs are nice for droppables/twinking. T2 and T3 would definitely benefit from being XPable. Maybe even be made to get XP from raid mob kills only, and require much less XP in return.

But then what do you do with the misplaced loot from tier 4? 5? 7? 12? sideways-8? Eventually older content becomes 1) Obsolete and passed over entirely/near entirely or 2) nostalgic

Yeah I don't know if there is a large enough stat gap between tiers to support exp items unless you want to exp something for like 3 extra hp.

Honestly there is some no drop loot on low tier mobs that is pretty much unusable. I'd be more than willing to go through and make a list, as well as a recommendation for a slight bump, but i'm pretty sure they would all end up -1500hp or w/e.

I've just always been of the opinion that if inexpensive dropables can trounce no drop loot that you need a group/raid of 65's to get, even if they are horribly geared, then maybe they should be made at least competitive!

obviously just change T1-3 mobs/stats to replace the lost thaz content!

Well focus effects will have to be upgraded with later tier stuff.

I don't it's just an idea. I see that tier content up all the time. As someone trying to get my relic spells, it would beneficial if the loot was worth people trying to help me.

Yeah it's a good idea, I just don't know how much room there is to maneuver without it just turning into straight-up inflation.

Actully on second thought, maybe another option would be to actually make the mobs a little easier. Maybe give some fresh 65's, or lower level 65's more of an entry level to the raid game than say, tmaps. As a healer, I have to say there is definatly quite the jump from healing Adepts and Tmaps to healing low tier raid bosses if you're with on tier players!

This... is... actually not the worst idea I've ever heard. It's not really worth it to 18-man most of this content outside of some highly specific things, but 6 or 12? It could work. I can see the possibility of a few ringers making the low tier a loot pinata for one or two people (as if they don't already) but if they were really committed they would just buy or farm the BOEs that are better at this point anyway, so it's not really an "issue." If you did follow that, I don't think they should be expable too, it should probably be one or the other.

The expable items idea isn't a terrible idea either, keeps content that has been "lost" to mudflation somewhat relevant, and we could raise the bar if mudflation ate another tier. The benefit of buying or raiding T4 gear would be that you have the equivalent gear instantly without any grind period. This helps the "little guys" who are breaking into the game and doesn't do much for anyone else.

I know most devs hate the idea of content they worked hard on getting ignored... these could be pretty nifty solutions. They definitely lower the "barrier of entry" into the SoD endgame a little, which is probably a real good thing.

The biggest problem i forsee is the higher tiered toons soloing or boxxing these mobs still. you could Turn them into adepts or something with an HP check maybe but then people would just take off gear engage and put it bakc on or something silly like that.... People already are boxxing or soloing the Tier 1 raid mobs for cash, Ancient's for alts or w/e. a tier 7+ paladin solo's these with ease i can ALMOST solo them with my druid.

so that would be my biggest concern is adding good loots and all the higher tier people literally soloing these mobs to gear their alts. and if you make tier 1 loot expable what would be the point in sticking around for traek or any other 55 adept except for his 100%WR bag i think he drops (idk never killed it:() when you can just bum rush to 65 and get the expable items from there? maybe if you turned all tier 1 targets into an adepts that checked for aa's instead of level or something.....

What if tier 1 mobs checked if you had any codices done?

That would rule out most ringers.

it really doesnt take much to solo the dragons. 7k buffed tank and a 6k mana healer could prolly do it. or a beefy monk with a nice 2hb

The point is, there are very few cases where anyone would want to duo said dragons. There are better dropables for sale.

Sad but true, I duo'd that WW dragon for the WR bag for at least an hour and a half (pre LD fix) with a scummy monk alt and a scummy shaman main. Even had to refresh each individually...shaman never got below like 97% mana and I popped mend at least 10 times I think.

The happy ending: A random pre-65 rogue stumbled through the MoP and accepted a mid-fight raid invite to push the "raid" DPS just over the dragon's healing threshhold and won himself some free loot! (bag didn't drop)

No real purpose to the story other than......yeah ok no real purpose.
