Maybe I am confused or something. It is DNC, which i assume will be fixed soon. what is confusing me is how you do use a skill that is locked till it is unlocked but you set up for you to use to unlock it? that is an odd sentence.

How do you unlock a skill by using it? if it was that easy, the use of the points on med and double attack such skills would be useless. anyways I hope this makes sense to those that have the answers.

Edit: if this doesn't work i guess we have the: #setskill [skill num (0-73)] [number (0-255)] - Sets the targeted player's skill. command to fall back on right?

if theyre using make poison isnt that a tradeskill? and tradeskills you dont have to unlock?

well it is considered a tradeskill, but requires a point being put in to use. tho alchemy is the same way and all chars can use it rather they have it or not. so not really sure.

Also, i dont know if the devs intended for this, but Apply poison will still not appear as a skill, even if you put points into it, and those points vanish into oblivion =(

So any class can make rogue poisons and gain exp from it being a tradeskill, but only rogues can use the poisons?

In theory, yes, if our belief that it can be "unlocked" through use starting at 0 skill is correct. In reality, no, since to use the Field Crucible, you have to be a rogue. So even if someone manages to get ahold of one, it will not work for a non rogue.

When using Lesser Haemophelia, the dot will be ticking away, growing in damage like it's suppose to?

Until you get a reproc and it resets to the base value and starts the growing again.

Is this working as intended? If it's not, could it be made so it doesn't overwrite itself?

PS: Excellent job all around, Ikaa!

I would think this qualifies as an idea, but would giving bards a low skill in Make poison be too unbalancing, or take too much away from the rogue class? It seems bards are part rogue with many rogue skills, so I wasn't sure if we would ever be able to use, at least, lower skilled poisons.

Why would we ever need poisons? We have a god damn lot already.

I agree, and if it stays rogue only for a class specific thing, I understand. I just thought using a buff slot for some lower end poisons wouldn't be too overpowering, but would add a bit more flavor to the "bard is part rogue" theme.

Honestly I hate the idea of giving poisons to bards; Your songs are far more powerful, as well as more utilitarian, and giving this ability in my eyes corrupts the bard class. I also believe it would require code changes to the client, which would not be possible without hack fixing it; something to avoid whenever possible.

I got a feel for what the other staff members feel, and the answer is no. Except for Allie. But she represents conflict of interest. So no.

Fair enough

What about Ranger useable? Having poison tipped arrows with a chance to DoT a mob.

Not only no, but hell no. No more requests for other classes to use it.. everyone gets a blanket no.

Why is that a hell no? I am just curious tbh. What if you could somehow tie poison making into fletching to make fletching a bit more useful. Say you make poison x and combine it with user created arrow x to make an arrow with some special characteristic based on what poison you added. Just a thought.

Why not just give rogues the ability to make poision arrows and share it with their ranger friends?
