The next zone tester... Gfay. After I zoned in, I got a tell from Skar saying something like "Dont sneak/hide, wiz said these mobs are supposed to see through and aren't working properly".
Hi. What Skar says isn't what I say.
Trees see sneak/hide. Still not the majority of the mobs.
And in response to your challenge:
Running through warrens I set off at least 5..
There's 1 trap in warrens. Setting off 5 is impossible, but it's quite possible that you just remembered wrong. The initial post was fine, and the feedback on lockpick was good, and led to us changing it. You'll notice noone "flamed" you for it. But then you were challenged, and had to bring out:
As for sneak/hide.. A lot of the new zones were added and made sneak/hide useless. Every mob sees us. Now, the zones we COULD sneak in, have traps that break our sneak/hide. So, the traps, although adding a new skill, is a hinderance on our other skills.
This was based on make-belief and erronous information, rather than personal experience, and the problem is,
people believe you. When players go touting off on "Beastlords are useless", "Sneak/hide is useless", "Riposte never goes off" and so on,
I'm the one that has to deal with their constant whining about it, which is completely unfounded in reality, because someone "known" spoke out on the boards about it.
This is why I really hate exhaggerations and half-truths. They just add to my workload.
Eldenal's mobs do not see sneak and hide anymore. I DISTINCTLY remember even telling you it was changed. You complained that it was silly that sneak and hide was useless. I listened. I changed it. Without even flaming you, amazingly enough, because you didn't also try to claim that sneak/hide was already seen in every other zone including erudin and all the guards there would slaughter you as soon as you hit your sneak button.
Not to mention your statement that every rogue hates these traps. Also an exhaggeration.
If you played a rogue on live, you have to be within 3 or 4 steps from the trap in order to sense it.
This is not true on WR. I'm not sure if you're toting it off as true on WR, though.
If you want to run to many exp camps at higher levels, you have to run through the newbie zones. In doing so, you set off at least 5 or 6 traps.. In some cases, up to 10.
Exhaggeration, again. There's not even 10 traps in all the traveling newbie zones together.
See what I'm yet? You do have a point, and we have begun changing it, and have already made raising pick lock easier, but it'd be much nicer if I didn't have to deal with rogues petitioning "when will sneak hide be useful again plz" because a high-end rogue states that it isn't.
Because that's what happens when you start bending the truth to state a point. And that's why I get so annoyed, not because you point out something is wrong.
