the new resist change is terrible

I do not know if it was a mistake in the coding or not, but my mage (level 42) killing level 35 mobs get resisted 60% of the time with 150 cha. If it doesn't get resisted 95% of the nukes that go through hits for less than half the usual before the patch. This needs to be changed or tweaked majorly.

I think it is safe to say that they know its not perfect and will be tweaking quite a bit...

The resist formula has received a general overhaul. It should now be less impossible (both for mobs and players!) to resist spells at lower levels, and getting your resists up above-average on those levels will help a lot. While this change has been tested throughoutly, it is still experimental, and will probably have some quirks. Please be patient about it.

Yea, I just found this out... I logged on and went to kill a few LB at 62 with 183cha and I had 2 resists out of 3 roots and Im like wtf. Thought it would be cake like usual but I ended up dying since I had all of 1200ish hp :) .

Sorry to see that some of the resist changes have added quite a bit of difficulty but we all know Wiz - he'll iron it out.

Does make me glad that I got my play in before the changes went in and hopefully they will be addressed before I play next :)

It would really help if you didn't use inflated hysterist numbers like "60%! 95%! OH MY GWAD"

no, my i am being resisted fully by 60% approx 1/2 2/3

OK.

Provide numbers.

Your level, con of mob you are fighting, spell you are using, and X resists out of X attempts.

I just tried as a level 45 mage against a level 40 mob with average resists, casting Blaze and Malise.

Full resist rates were about 15% on Blaze and 25% on Malise, with well over half of all Blazes landing for full damage.

60% and 95% my ass.

Thanks for being as hysterist as I expected.

Geonids have above-average resists, but okay, I'll humor you and test them with a level 42 mage with 80 CHA.

yesterday it was landing almost 90% or so with almost all of them having full damage, right now full damage spells are a rarity

Server-calculated (aka, unquestionable) full resist rates for nukes on a average level geonid at level 42 with Cinder Bolt is 35%. A little less than half should land for full. That's with 80 CHA.

With 140 CHA, this drops to well below 30% full resist rates. Since you are fighting highly resistant mobs, maybe you should use malise?

Okay, next person that goes "my spells are getting 50% resisted ZOMG" without providing actual statistics rather than their worked up feelings gets suspended from the forums.

I want S-T-A-T-I-S-T-I-C-S. Get that?

Also, yesterday it was practically impossible for both mobs and players to resist anything at lower levels. This was not a good thing.

level 50's are casting spells on greens in ooc and saying its getting resisted like mad also

I'm sure they would never ever exaggerate.

After spending about oh 5+ hours yesterday in the same hunting ground, I realize what shoulda been up. I actually dinged right before I logged so Im 62 now. I am absolutely sure that my resists are much much worse. Ive had a wave that did 2 total resists and 1 partial for like 73. Thats just an example, but overall I am getting a lot of red total resists which is not the norm.

So that brings me to the question, how can I get some numbers? Ive never used a dps calculater for SOD yet, or any such tool.
