The stats on this thing are superb yet it regularly sells for 250pp or so, try selling one for 1500pp or so and you'll be lauged out of auction. I don't have much experience of camping it but I feel the droprate must be far too high for such a good item to sell so low with such regularity.

I suggest measures be taken to either reduce its stats to the value of a 250pp shoulder item or nerf its droprate (wouldn't take care of those in circulation now but would help not make people mad)
 
I havn't played in awhile, but It doesn't even seem that great of an item.

The stats are eh, and the ft2 probably isn't even noticable to the classes listed and not to mention ft isn't as valuble for people who would be using this item because of the fast med.
 
50 hp, 35 points of saves, and ft2 is pretty good no matter how you look at it. Given where it comes from, some sort of nerf is probably in order.
 
It could also indicate that Kedge is just perma camped.

Same thing happened to pretty much all mielechb loot.

But yeah, it's got great stats but FT II isn't as useful for the classes listed. Put Cleric on it and I'll buy it for 2k =)
 
It also drops like 4 mobs from the zonein afaik, i think it should just be put on a different mob (the ring event?) and made rarer.

the fact that it has swordfish in the name sort of precludes that, since the ring event boss is a fishman.
 
Not necessarily. I mean, he could have made it from other fish and just been holding onto it.
 
I only did kedge ring twice, but i'm pretty sure that the Swordfish Fin Mantle is better than any of the drops that we got anyways.

I agree it's worth more than 250p...I bought one recently for 400p (aug'd).

I assume it's the drop rate partly, but also take into consideration tmap loot which has come in to bump out other items that were once more sought after.

I agree with the suggestion to lower the drop rate or to have it drop off a single mob in kedge.
 
The thing that does not make sense to me is that everyone is hollering that the drop rate must be too high. There is such a thing as accumulation of an item. It has dropped for how long? All the ubers, who have more plat to pay, are beyond it so you must sell to non ubers. Well, they have less plat so you get less. On top of that, all the old ones get recycled back into the system.

If you want prices to stay like they were a year ago, then try to stop better items from being introduced or get the old ones to wear out.
 
Thats the nature of this economy. Especially /w al the extra plat from charm sales going on... But take example : Bloody Cloak of the Offerer... Its farmed quite a bit... and has driven the price of ALL haste items down... as well as dragonhide belt from dn rats (done as well for dragons/quest armor drops.)

So any zone that is farmed the shit out of = lower prices.
