Spell drop rate on Treasure Maps

My regular groupmates and I have been trying to find our level 61+ spells.

I have done quite a few tmaps over the past few weeks, from VE to Difficult, and I have noticed very few spells dropping. I would like to see treasure map chests having a better chance at dropping a level appropriate spell.

As an ancillary note, I have noticed that while very easy, easy, and moderate tmaps often drop spells, the drop rate on difficult and very difficult tmaps is really low. I've personally not seen any spells in these rank tmaps, although I've heard it's possible. This, combined with the fact that the difficult and very difficult tmaps I've done have rewarded cash comparable to a moderate tmap, has been really discouraging to me.

I don't know if I've just been unlucky with the difficults and very difficults I've done, but I would request that these two issues be looked at.

Obviously spell drop rates. Lower difficulty can drop 61-62 spells, and it ramps up to 65 spells. They all have the same chance to drop, though.

The platinum per chest, I don't know or care. At that point, you're not doing them for money but for the rare items anyway.

I've just never seen a moderate or lower chest that Didn't drop a tmap, and I've done at least 4-5 difficults and very difficults that didn't drop any. I had assumed that they weren't capable of it, until somebody told me otherwise.

Guess I was just unlucky.

Money drops and spell drops is what offsets the value of the tmap. Since you're never guarunteed to get item upgrades from tmaps (and more so now that you're limited to fewer people on these raid type maps), the money and spells are the "consolation prize" that makes it worth it to drop 3k on a tmap.

I don't mind the major prize being the items, I just never understood why the cash drop rate was static after mods.

I'm cranking up plat drops on tier 4 and 5 chests, because you have a point there.

Roughly 1 in 3 chests on average will give you a spell. I feel that's an adequate amount of spells since they are droppable.

While I would consider that 1 in 3 chests dropping a level appropriate spell is more than adequate, if that is currently true, I would find it very hard to believe. Does anyone here believe that 1 in 3 chests on average have a spell? Or am I reading this wrong and Wiz is saying 1 in 3 chests on average will (not currently, but in the future) give you a spell?

It sounds like he's saying that 1/3 has been the drop rate and will continue to be the drop rate (on AVERAGE).

I can't say, because I've only done like 4 diff + very diff's where I paid attention to spell droppage. While I haven't seen spells on those, the sample size is much much too small to make any judgements.

If you've done more than 50 diff's and very diff's and have seen SIGNIFICANT differences from 1/3 (50 is a pretty small sample size too), then I'd assume there's been a problem with the drop rate.

Every chest has a 30% chance of dropping a spell.

I've done quite a few tmaps and 30% is about what I've experienced. I might do 5-6 one day and get 0-1 spells then do 3 the next day and get 4-6 spells. A 30% drop rate will tend to generate particularly streaky results that will average out over time.
