Spawn Times

I'm adjusting the spawns down to 4.5 days, to see how that works out. 6 was clearly too much.

Thanks for toning it down a bit wiz.

On Povar for a while there was set rotations for things like the Elementals and Time such.

Would be cool if that could be set up here, but not everyone would go for it.
I think it's sad that people would need to resort to this.

Is the trash in a zone set to a single timer or is every individual spawn point going to have a random spawn time?

Because if they are all seperately random it might defeat the purpose of having the trash there in between you and the bosses. At worst you would only have to clear trash half the time to get to a boss. Although this probably sounds good to some people, consider this: what if you cleared all the way to, say, Arch Sultan, and then next time around he spawns before all his other trash and some other guild gets a free clear for no work?

It might be an overreaction but I can think of a lot of clears that are mostly difficult because of the number of mobs in the way, not their individual difficulty (i.e. mephits and armors on 2nd tier of Air).

edit: Also, thanks for turning down the spawn time, <3.

Respawn times are typically based on the zone. For example, Caverns of Darkness trash all has the same respawn time; similar can be said for Sepulcher(though the roamers there respawn a bit faster to provide a little extra risk to pulling to locations instead of crawling).

I don't really like the idea of trash respawns being increased, since most trash respawns weren't touched in the change to 3 day, that I know of.

Why? When there was ~10 guilds all going for Time and people agreed to it, why is it sad? Everyone had their shot at it and nobody complained until a guild broke it and started not following it.

Everyone has their shot at it without this system too, just the best/fastest/guilds with most playtime will get more chances and more loot, AS IT SHOULD BE.

All of Cmal is currently effected by the +/- rule, and it's pretty much trivializing some events. Only one black knight being up, 3 pulls only having 1 mob up, Conclave missing a member, etc. Can cmal be excluded from the rule, or at least the rule only added to Summoner, Harvester and Reborn Malath?

Oh, don't get me wrong. The top guilds should get the most shots, and they do here. I'm just saying how as a last resort a rotation system isn't blasphemy. Once ToTarhyl goes live I think it will open the Thaz tier up a bit as well as everything else, and their won't be as much chaos(not that there really is now).

This is exactly the kind of thing I'm worried about. Mephits in Air (and, IMO, the armors on the Sultan/Seduc level too), multipulls in Torment (the two blackguards in front of Hsargh, guards outside spiders), Ylaak and crew in DHK, and many other pulls can be trivialized by all this randomness. It might not be feasible to keep raid targets and trash on a random +/- timer unless all the trash and targets related to one another can be put on the same random number.

The randomizer was broken, and was randomizing way too much. It shouldn't be nearly as big an issue now.

With everything being on an exact 4.5 day respawn time, as you clear through the stuff it will naturally repop in order so you have to clear the trash again. That is, unless there is a random system put in. Wiz stated it was 4.5 days, if a random system is put in it would make it easier to "break" these spawns. I dont think "breaking" spawns is bad either, its what good guilds do to make things easier, and it definatly takes work -- work that is rewarded over time. Either way, its going to take a lot of time to break a spawn, and even if you do you are going to have to camp it repeatedly and precisely or you lose your break, which is part of the game. Furthermore, in the past this was always possible, why change it now -- it obviously hasnt been an issue and is excess work.

course, if you wanted to you could make the "random" part of the timer an offset on the base 4.5 days that's different for each zone and only re-rolls itself once every 24-48 hours (and which doesn't reroll if the zone has 6 or more people in it)

that way, whatever the raid kills will respawn at basically the same time and in the same order, but not necessarily at exactly 4.5 days.

/agree. Cmal is been weird with that change.
