Shield Procs, Knight skill caps, AA suggestion

Currently shield based procs only proc off of a successful bash (which rarely happens), and only one shield in the game I know of even has a bash proc, Graval Escutcheon from Cmal3. I would like to suggest that shield procs be changed to proc off of a successful block, and more shields be given procs.

Also, the current caps for Parry, Riposte, Dodge and Taunt are 225, 225, 225 and 200 for Knights. Being a tanking class this is more than a little underwhelming. I would like to see all the caps raised to ~240. I had another thread about the taunt cap, but nothing was ever done or said about it.

Lastly, the Knight Class AA "2 Hand Bash" currently allows us to use our bash skill while wielding a 2 hand weapon. This would be great except for the fact that when you would actually have the extra AA's to spend on this ability, bash is useless. Doing maybe 30 damage on a bash if it hits is extremely disappointing, and you cannot interrupt mobs over level 59 (iirc). I would like the devs to think about revamping the AA to one of the following (or something similar)

Combat Tactics: Increases the rate at which the Knight Parries, Dodges and Blocks by 1% and increases the chance to successfully land a melee hit by 1%

Shield Specialization: Increases the rate at which the Knight Blocks by 1% and allows the Knight the use of the /shield ability as well as increasing the chance for a successful bash by 8%

Crippling Bash: Increases the chance of a successful bash and all successful bashes have a chance to stun the target for 1 second and increasing hate by 150

As far i know /shiled ability its only on warriors but its really worth to do it?, i dont really noticed any diference when doing in a war over another tank, but maybe it was just me.
 
There are a few lower end shields that have a proc (blast shield iirc), but at the high end they are non-existent.

Im agreeing 100% pretty much entirely with Jose's post, I only just recently got 2 handed bash as an AA, (after I had less than 100 AAs to go to max), I do like it for interrupting pesky cleric mobs from CHing themselves 3 times in a row, but there are very few cleric mobs that do this..

Crippling Bash sounds like an excellent way to make it worth buying earlier. (The other 2 do also, but I like that one the most tbh)
 
Crippling Bash for the non-interruptable mobs = :toot:

Also, raising the caps for parry, riposte, dodge, taunt, and maybe even bash :psyduck: would make make knights more useful than sacrificers imo.

I would love to see our skill cap being improved, especially parry, since knights and shields go hand-in-hand. I also agree that 2h bash is a very worthless AA at the moment and I would never buy it in it's current state, but any Jose's suggestions would make me :dance:.

Yep. Although this may never benefit any high end shields or me, I think this would be a reasonable change!

i don't support this specific thing however, or if it DOES get added at any point, it would have to be looked at very closely.

not to be a negative nancy, but procc'ing damage when successfully blocking would make some fights very frustratring, and would keep tanks from using a shield when tanking. The only procs taht would work would be runes, heals, stuns, maybe debuffs. heck, it could be lotsa things, just not damage.

Is there any chance this could be put into consideration still?

Perhaps if this cannot be added to the current 2 hand bash AA it could be added to the shield mastery AA at the top level?
 
Kinda off topic but are " knights " stats as far as block, parry, ect all the same between paladins and shadowknights?

Yeah, and I don't see any reason to change that. And as far as skill caps being changed, is any thought being put into it, or is this request going to be ignored like most other knight requests?
