no im sorry that doesnt work like that

if you have 10xn=9.9999...

and you subtract .9999... from both sides, that leaves you with

9.000....01n=9

which is .000...01=n


basically you cant prove that .999...=1 without assuming it during the proof, which holds no credibility and you are wrong
 
you cant subtract .9999... from 10 and get 9 to prove that .9999...=1 that doesnt make sense

i can say 2+4= 7, subtract 2 from both sides and you get 4=5 but thats fuckin wrong

I never subtracted .9999... from 10. I subtracted .9999... from 10x.9999...
 
if you plot 2 lines on a graph, one that intersects y as a line at the .9999... coord and one that intersects y at the 1 coord, where would they become the same line?

it just doesnt work, the way that we think about infinite numbers makes it appear to work, but .9999... is never going to equal 1, it really wants to equal 1 but you just cant prove that it does because you dont have the ability to work with infinite decimal places
