Rotlord

The Ubers just don't get this

The non-ubers are not wanting to make the quest easier

What we are saying is that ubers are so powerful and so dedicated to farming that non-ubers never get a look in. The Rotlord is taken down almost immediately he pops time and time again.

In some cases the non-ubers have been there but had the kill snatched from them as they were clearing.

All people are saying is lets have some chance of completing the quest.

I know that a Guild group should be able to kill the Rotlord but at the moment there is a zero chance because I cant camp a complete Guild group or reasonably expect them to be on 5 minute standby for a week.

We understand your need to farm why cant you understand our difficulty in getting the quest completed as the point has been repeatedly and clearly made but not taken onboard by some who keep thinking we are pleading to make the task of killing Rotlord easier. What we are asking for is the actual opportunity to engage the Rotlord in some way without having the mob farmed before we can blink.

What's funny is that Ryst and Tani could be considered by many to be "ubers." We also detest farming and tend to be courteous and honor camps of others unlike some ... hell, we've even watched as a group wiped on a named we were interested in and rezzed them so they could try again. The named (Rotlord) would be no problem for us to take down if we ever saw him up and had a chance at him ... 40+ hours over a 3-day period and never even seen him (and that is after constantly checking him for weeks) ... personally, I won't buy the sheild, I love questing above most things in this game. Besides, it would go against my philosophy that all quest items, including SoF should be no drop -- earn your own, it's fun (most of the time)! :)

Just make his loot no-drop. Problem will be solved since almost 100% of the peeps I see killing him are doing it for his loot. It would make more sense to return the droppable loot to mobs like PF/Flux etc., since they aren't invovled in any quests that I know of.

Yea, I think it would make a lot more sense to return dropables to a plaguefang if anything, and make rotlord's loot no drop. Still looking for his spawn /facepalm

The changes made to droppable gear some time back (plaguefang, lavascale) were intended to make easy-to-reach targets less viable for farmers, and drive them into dungeons where there is a more appropriate risk for the farming reward.

I can 100% guarantee that if the items on rotlord go 'no drop' we will not 'compensate' by making PF or LS items droppable again: that completely negates the whole spirit of the changes. Farmers who want to make money off items should have to work for them by killing in dungeons or out-of-the-way places, not by jumping on 5 minute drive-bys.

Almost every named that you can snipe is a 5 minute drive by. I think Rotlord is a bit different because he is for a quest. Making this camp a 6-8 hour camp of killing PHs seems to be fitting.

The others had other things going for them as well to make them more than a five minute driveby. For starters I'm doubtful as to whether plaguefang is duoable. I can only really think of one combination that has a shot at doing it, and it includes pretty much 2 characters out of the ones on the server. Same thing with lavascale, though I'm imagining at least 6-10 characters on the server could be used to do it, as he's much less difficult. Fluxator? In a dungeon. The only one who really even comes close to fitting that was made that way is lenny. Also, plaguefang if you're not bound at the actual lake, is pretty much a comparable run to pretty much any dungeon zone tbh.

To explain, getting together at least another person to snipe a named, and splitting the money, is not even close to as beneficial in most cases as going yourself, to a dungeon, and hitting up a bunch of named in a row which have a chance of respawning for more loot in a very short period of time (as opposed to like 4 days). For starters we have the difficulty, then we have the relative prices of the gear, then count in the splitting versus not, and the time to get someone else on at the same time as well, versus invising to a bunch of named.

Rotlord really is the only one of those other than lenny that fits the 5minute driveby explanation, and unless you want a literal ton of frenzied worshippers kicking your teeth in, it's advised to take your time and take care of them beforehand. Lenny and rotlord also have quests attached. A much better rationale for making their loot nodrop.

If you can port/are a porter, you can easily port to sunpeaks, evac, run a few seconds and zone to Dark woods, evac, run a few seconds and zone to EPL, evac, run a few seconds and zone to WPL and then run to the lake either
