hello, I just started and I would like to explain advantages and disadvantages between a rogue and a beastlord because I like to make one of these 2 characters, thank you very much.

syduck: If you count cunning, sv, and savagery with the beastlords dps, they are more than rogues by themselves. An enchanter with two monks is more. A wizard is more on most fights. A necro is usually more too. A mage with two targets is more.Rogues are just high, sustained melee dps, and not only is saying they are #1 dps (as there are most certainly ways of doing vastly more on multiple targets) is misleading, it's also false.

Go rogue, monk or ranger if you're looking for straight up melee dps. Go necro if you're looking for actually decently lasting casting dps. Go wizard if you want exceptional burst dps in the midgame, if you want lots of dps and you go mage you will eventually be disappointed.
Beastlords have alot of utility, and they do solo well. Which is often necessary on both actually in your very early game. Since they both aren't what one would consider good early on. Endgame beasts are pretty amazing, but so are endgame rogues. Rogues cannot solo worth a damn though.

Just a couple of thoughts. If this is a first character, the beastlord wll be able to go much further with less gear. The pet does a portion of the dps and depending on play style can take some of the damage. Also bare fists become very good weapons.
I also think I disagree with Vistachiri, to a degree. On beastlord, level 1-9 suck a little, but anyone can level those fairly easily. But once you have a pet it is very easy to level when you first get your pet spell and then it becomes harder until right before the next pet, you struggle a little, unless you are with a group.
For the rogue, you better have a group, period. Or at least a tank and healer.

You can solo slowly with the right gear and AA's as a rogue, getting up to that point requires grouping
