Resistance Debuff

I checked search for this topic and didn't notice anything so I will address it because I think it can be very useful in circumstances and otherwise I find it to be a useless spell. I should have done some research but for now I will narrow it down to Necro resist debuff spells. (The Scent of.. line)

I would just like to suggest that resistance debuffs have extremely low chance of being resisted. I've casted this spell many times in hope to boost my chances of landing spells more often than not (which now isn't AS MUCH of a problem for me, but there are still mobs out there with high resistances that i'd love to use this spell and be an extra help for other casters in group). This resist debuff gets resisted more often than not and it's already pointless enough when I finally do land it, it seemed like I was still being resisted. And no I wasn't fighting mobs that conned red. But for now i'm not asking you to increase the debuff, only decrease the likelihood of the spell being resisted.

Tweak it as you will if you feel that it would unbalance this spell and make it "too good". Increase the mana cost, increase the casting time, etc. I think it's already costly enough to take the time and mana to cast this spell, this is the reason that it drives me up the wall when it gets resisted a number of times in a row, but it is still more important that the susceptibility to the resistance debuff be increased.

Thanks for taking the time to look into this. :keke:

"Resistance Debuff" is a pretty wide range of things to cover, especially since you didn't mention your class, what level you are, what spell you are using and what mobs you are fighting.

Both Mages and Shamans have the mal- line, the highest iteration of which is either unresistable or so close to it that it doesn't matter too much. If additional debuff is needed, once they land mala/Malo, they can move on to malosini, which has a worse resist check but debuffs more.

Edit: either you edited your post after mine or I sucks at reading I see now that you mentioned the "scent" necro line.

with 405 charisma and full hidden strength I find that the top end scent debuff almost always lands on trash and group mobs and only takes 2-3 casts on raid mobs which is acceptable, so just work on getting your charisma as high as it can go and you should be all set

Based on the time in which you posted your introduction on the forums, I'd guess you'd have to be max level of 30... In which case your charisma isn't the best, and the mobs you're fighting have streaky resists. Had you posted your level, the ACTUAL spell you were using (The spell LINE is nearly meaningless), where you were fighting, and what spells get resisted after you cast your resist debuff, people might be able to give you constructive criticism.

However, when I play a Thaz-geared mage, whose job it is to debuff the mob with Malo/Malosini, I can tell you that even with 450-something Charisma that Malosini gets resisted nearly all the time without a Malo first.

Actually, if Hisoka rings a bell. I'm a 62 necro. I had 170+ charisma. However, I decided to quit tonight. Thanks anyways. Have a good time in SoD.
