Reagent Con for Beastlords

I agree Fuwok, I hated it from the moment I got the spell... I don't even play Rans much anymore, but still cringe at knowing that I'd have to load a mage bot to summon dots just so I can use all my spells.

I know food/water requirement is baked into the client, but the spells can be altered to no require them. So why not just change this? I can sort of understand it for some spells, necro rez, druid weather change, but the majority of the buffs that use reagents really have no reason too. At least, no good one, as the only reason now is: "because that is the way it always was" or "because that is the way it was on live". And even the food could probably be changed, just need the duration that normal food lasts (make it banquet or whatever is longest, and have no stat food use that type) into some abnormally long duration, 999 hours, or some such. Then you can use stat food (and deal with short durations) if you want, but a stack of normal vendor bought food/drink would last you forever.
Just another, albeit ignored, QoL issue.

It's a shame every time a dev starts doing QoL stuff they do like two changes and then disappear or get re-tasked to tackle something else.

It's strange how randomly things get done. Bounty reward pet weapons exist because Slaar read something in ooc and whipped them up then and there. I wish more things like that happened.

Yes. A medium, perhaps a Forum, for Players to aid or Assist in game Development would be a cool thing to have. Players could post their ideas and every few days/weeks a dev could swing through and just be like "yes, no, no, I like this idea but try a different approach, yes, no, no, no, etc..." then the approved changes would happen or at the very least be put on a To Do list somewhere. Heck, put a sticky at the top with two columns- "Player Suggested Changes That Have Happened" and "Player Suggested Changes That Will Happen Eventually". That would be an amazing tool that would really validate the claims that this server has great community and staff interaction unseen on other servers. If only.

Well judging by the looks, this Suggestion forum is 200+ pages long, so...

To be honest if we even have a suggestion forum, yea there should be some interaction inside instead of just leaving it get up to 200 pages. It doesn't really make it look like great interaction between staff and players. It may even ward off a potential player who comes here just to take a peek. He goes into suggestion forum and see oh 200 pages, let me see if staff interacts or not. Nope not really I think I'm out of here.

1. Suggestion forum with 3 sub forums. Approved (that's where staff puts stuff that got approved), Not approved (that's where staff puts things that weren't approved obviously with a post of why they thought it wasn't warranted that way it shows that your at least communicating with your community), Soon to be approved (stuff that are good but they don't got time to implement yet).

I will be the first to admit, I have never played a BL (beyond my level 1 who is sitting in Tipt). Is the primary concern Savagery? I was speaking with someone about this the other night.

Aye.

side note. Original mask from Old OG had savagery as the clicky to alleviate the bst reagents problem.

I remember CW killing this monster to get Tierilo a mask. I feel like it was changed because the item's click effect wasn't understood by whoever changed it.
It didn't allow a BST to have Savagery on two targets, just A): Freed up a spell gem (much like CotH clicker stick from Prison, Rez shield for Clerics, BW Feather for all healers, etc) for other spells, and B): Allowed them to cast Savagery without needing to burn through stacks of Pearls, because reagent con was pretty rare to find/ obtain. It was a shame to see the change to begin with, but maybe it can be revisited and either reversed or more reagent con can be found.

Yes. That is the only spell I can think of that we have the requires a reagent. (Peridots, btw.) And, as pointed out, the OG mask (it has SV on it now) was awesome for freeing up a spell gem, and the need to get dots (summoned or bought) to cast it.

More often than not I just completely ignore using my classes best spell because after playing this long, loading a Mage just to make dots every time I log in is a major pita. It is also completely unnecessary for a spell with a fairly decent recast time... In fact, to my knowledge the only other reagent using spell in the game that has a load time of more than 15 seconds is Cull Storm... Which just makes it precipitate in zone... And also has a clicky that is BOE even... http://wiki.shardsofdalaya.com/index.php/Radiant_Crystal_Rod

The Wizard "disintegrate" spell has a recast of 2 minutes and costs an opal. I agree that costing regents to cast spells is just stupid.

Justified in this case because there is a level 64 version of this spell with no reagent cost. But in general I agree, reagents are stupid.

I read this super cool post once about removing dots as a requirement to cast a spell.

I can understand the requirements of reagents for some spells, however these spells are few.

If the requirements to cast a spell can simply be summoned by another class why even have the requirement in the first place?
