EPIC + QUESTS

Why not add some high-end quests
All i know is Ytzaralich, Spear of Ancient Hunter, Shaman Epic, Swiftsho, Lifewar, Shield of Freeport, and no others...
i know they have more, but what is happening is that ppl get at 65, get a few aa, do prison, and then they get bored... add some real high end quests with no clearly clues...

where u have to bribe some one at some town, like for 7 days ( sod time ) and do not ned to be consecutive.

some faction hits depending on your class and race, and maybe introducing deities to SoD...

and this deity would apply to your epic...
like let say there are 4 deitis a ranger could pick

one will allow his bow to have a +revcovery,
one will allow his bow to have a +hp,
one will allow his bow to have a special effect (proc),
one will allow his bow to have a +crit on it

i know is alot of effort but would give ppl alot more things to do..

ZONES
Revamp some zones and add a few more..

like ruins of narg, there is nothing in there...
i know it have to do with some previous things, but hey, could add some few raid zones over there.
add some more raid zones, not only high-ends only, but what about lvl 30-40 zones with nameds that drop some good loots?, i also know is not easy, but giving more zones would ppl like more to explore and with that giving more hope..

like wait for a couple of weeks then release all zones together to avoid many ppl trying to go as is in tower...
in 1 day that the tower was release many ppl have defeated bosses in there :(

PVP
Well why not add some pvp zones also? maybe only 1 zone, one zone with 4 small arenas maybe, one ffa, one no magic, one with max of 2 ppl per arena and another with max of 4...

Maybe some tournament, or even a npc that you could bet 500 pp on you, and soneone add 500 pp on him, and both were summoned to zone and winner gets all...

I am all for massive quests being added that have several different paths. PvP zones are a waste of zones imo.

speaking of epics, i would like to see an epic for every class. Right now, clerc, shaman, warrior and ranger and beastlord have them in the forms of Ytrazliarch, Ancestral Mask, Swiftshot, Spear of the ancient Hunter and Lifeward. All are used by raid level toons except maybe those that are IP geared. Maybe a knight epic with the same sword going down 2 paths: Making a sword Holy for the paladin and Corrupted for an SK.

Just some thoughts...

As far as I understand it, none of those are designed as "epics" or are considered as such by the staff.

so maybe they aren't "epics" but they are more epic that any other quests available. They involve killing several high level mobs to attain the item. It would be nice to see more class specific quests of similar level for other classes besides the aformentioned quests

theyr not designed as epics..
but they "are" the only high-end quests we have, that means we need more high ends quests.

and some mi level also..

because ppl never get tires until reach 65.. what is the max... so we need to work over that

and why not the pvp zone? ive seen someone in here saying wtb guildwar..
so .. there could be a 6x6 arena.. would be awesome...

You didn't seriously attempt to think that up did you?

It's a tired idea

I simply used it as an example anyway. Basically: questable items, even if it involves killing several high end mobs to achieve them. It doesn't need to be the "holy sword/corrupted sword" idea. But it just need to be something useful for high end toons that don't already have a high level quest item.

Epics aren't going to happen, but there's always the possibility of more high level quests being added. Some may require raiding, some may require doing 6-12 man zones, etc. We'll see, right now we don't have many people dealing with Quest Design(me, Wiz, Thinkmeats atm) so we're kind of swamped in scheduling stuff like new quests and such.

I'm not here to rekindle any debate or anything. However, I missed the reasoning behind the staff's decision to forego more epics?

Last thing I remember, back before the S&D order, that epics were planned for every class. What made you guys decide against it?

why would every class have exactly one highly intriguing quest that could only be completed at the near height of their level-wise power, which would roughly be the same difficulty?

We decided against calling those quests epics. There's still a chance that we'll do cool max-level class quests, but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll be 'epics'. The shaman mask is an example of one of those cool quests, as is Lifeward. Those aren't epics though.
