Query: Please read and reply

Don't get so snippish. Yes, I asked for somethiing specific, but that doesn't mean I can't explain my reasoning behind the slow experience.

I don't want a zip to 65 in one week thing. It's silly, and it completely invalidates any idea of a game pre the highest levels.

I was suggesting, that if you feel such burnout, to try and chill a little about the entire issue, because 65 isn't all the world.

I agree with you!
Gummythetroll, let me ask you a question: do you play in free eq servers because its free and exp is faster? I dont. I play because it's free and the staff actually cares for the players :) As Wizzy said, lvl 65 isnt everything, at least for me and some other people in the server ;)

Xavori,

Your post suggests 1 of 2 things to me, Either you did not read the original question of the post or you did not read my reply to it, which had you did, you would realise that it aimed to respond to that particular question.

The fact that your post is completely off-topic, completely unhelpful and not geared towards fulfilling the aim of the post but rather regurgitating what Wiz said, possibly because you lack a backbone and therefore the ability to come up with your own opinion, quite frankly means F* all.

I and others replying to **THIS** post, really couldnt careless why you choose to play on "free eq servers" whether its to make friends or because the GM's make you feel all warm and fuzzy.

I chose to take time out of my current level 60 character, yes lvl 60, (because im not an xp freak dying to get to 65) shows that I had the initiative and the willingness to try and help determine how XP is for lower levels.

The result? Starting again from scratch I found xp to be significantly slower, even when being power level'd, duo'ing and being in good groups, so much so that it burnt me out (as an experienced player with significantly better leveling circumstances than the average new player would have).

In other words, your post is off-topic and belongs in a different thread. And I do wish you would actually read the topics or the replies before attempting an attack on those who follow the aims of the thread.[/quote]

First of all, stop playing topic dictator. If you want to get completely anal, the thread was just about posting results, not about including personal opinions, so you're precisely as god damn off topic as you're proclaiming xavori to be.

You don't get to decide in which direction a thread goes. Board moderators do, or noone does.

If you get burned out, that's too bad, but the answer isn't trivializing leveling and making everyone get 65 and full AA in a week or something.

So can you try to come up with ways to make leveling interesting (or less boring, even), rather than asking for exp to be back at the absurd levels it used to be at?

Right, so me posting leveling speed information, the effects it had on me personally and proposing a possible solution is off-topic and "precisely" as irrelevant as Xavori asking if i "play emu because its free".

that makes sense.

ok well gl to you, xavori and whoever else, i hope it works out.

You provided the following numbers: "It took me two weeks to go 5 levels". Very vague, and essentially, useless data, as it said nothing of how much you played over those two weeks.

You weren't off-topic. Neither was xavori. That was my point. What Xavori said was a bycomment of "I'm happy with exp gain as it is" which is just as valid as you saying "I'm unhappy with exp gain as it is".

You basically jumped at him for disagreeing with you and tried to act topic moderator, which you're not.

BTW: Saying player numbers is down is kinda silly when we just broke our four-month old record of simultaneous players.

I managed to solo a necro up to level 41 so far (soloing because my time zone is pretty quiet), and I really don't think that the xp gain itself is slow, or fast either.

As a new player (only ever played the real EQ VERY briefly even), I think the lack of actual content for the lower levels is far more important than the leveling speed. There is quite a bit at the lower levels I found, but level 20-40 there isn't a lot to do bar killing the same stuff over and over, which is what makes leveling tedious. Of course I haven't explored every area, which is also tedious for one person to do when you can get killed pretty easy. I think leveling through the middle levels is far better when you have some goal in mind besides making the next level. Having been a coder on a mud for a while, I know that making such content interesting is a long process though.

As for time, I don't know how valid the efforts of a soloer are, but it takes me a few hours I guess to level in the late 30's, early 40's, but I do screw around a bit, killing the same things over and over is kinda boring. Leveling was quicker earlier but that had more to do with the advice I was getting I guess.

Playing after work and the occasional weekend it has taken me a couple of months I guess to get to 41. Not an exact number, but I don't really time it.

Trail of Tears will add 40 more zones to the game, many of them 20-40, so that should solve the content issues.

Yeah, it's what we're working on now, we're releasing the return to the ruined oldworld.

Hey guy, awesome work. I've loved playing on your server so far (sorry for no donation, your server funds are higher than my current bank account) and I think that you've taken a really good turn with the game mechanics provided.

This new "expansion" has my interest piqued. Is there any time frame for it's release?

Also... I like vah shir...
